Looking for a new sexy 18+ read.... well look no further because Hard Rock Harlots Series By Kendall Grey is where it is at!

Synopsis:

Free-spirited musician Letty Dillinger adheres to a strict, “no strings attached” policy when it comes to men. After a wild night of unabashed sex in a fancy hotel room, she never expects to see the adventurous stud she dubs “Shades” again. When her all-girl rock trio books a tour at the last minute as the opening act for their archenemies, Letty’s shocked to discover she knows the competition’s new lead singer. Intimately. Shades is no longer a one-night stand. Now he’s the guy she has to one-up on stage every night for the sake of her career.

Sharing close quarters on a bus with her sexy nemesis and his bad-boy buddies puts Letty’s Golden Rule to the test. On this tour, guitar strings aren’t the only things being played. And when heartstrings are pulled too hard, they’re bound to snap sooner or later.

WARNING: STRINGS is not suitable for slut shamers, uptight stone throwers, Holier-Than-Thou prudes, humorless virgins, persons with chronic neck or back pain, pearl-clutching bitties, those who disparage crude humor or vulgarity in their many forms, closed-minded people with sticks up their asses, or anyone under the age of 18. The vile, base language and shocking, unholy sexual acts contained herein are not condoned by anyone with a lick of sense and should certainly not be reproduced without proper training and protection. The potty-mouthed and perpetually horny "heroine" (the term is used loosely) of this book does not resemble a normal, well-adjusted, or remotely believable person in any way, shape, or form. The author acknowledges that the characters in this book are shallow and two-dimensional; the plot is both ridiculous and insipid. She makes no apologies for any of it.

Excerpt:

“Why the long face?” Bartender Rob tosses a stained white towel over his shoulder and leans across the nicked wood. He rests his meaty elbows in a puddle of liquor leftovers. I eye the spot and manage to keep my tongue in my mouth. No licking the bar. You’re not drunk enough. Yet. I do love me some booze, and I’m living off the coins I found in my couch cushions until payday. With a calloused index finger, I stir my vodka martini—the one birthday present I allowed my broke-ass self to buy.

“The short version? My boyfriend left me for Jesus. I’m stuck in a dead-end waitressing job, clogging people’s arteries at Fat Johnny’s Barbeque Shack, making jack shit. I’m earning even less busting ass at the gig I want to be doing.” The part about my boyfriend is a white lie. He’s really just a guy I was bonking for a while. Technicality. But the rest is one hundred percent truth. “No one gives a mangy monkey boner about art anymore. Nothing but a bunch of zero-talent sellouts in this fucking town.” I meet Rob’s eyes. “Man, I’m twenty-five today, and I have nothing to show for it.” Rob straightens.

“My mama always said, ‘If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.’” I shake my head. “Fuck that. I’d rather starve than sell out.” Yeah, I’m a little rabid about this particular stick-to-your-guns philosophy. Some people find strength in religion. I believe in music, and I defend it with everything I’ve got, even when things don’t go my way. I played the unfortunate role of a human pinball paddled back and forth between my divorced parents for most of my life. In my darkest moments, solace and light came from listening to my mom’s ’70s cassette tapes. For a few years, music was my only friend.

Nobody else understood me. It helped me through the rough patches and gave me motivation to pick up the bass at fourteen. Even though I haven’t made it yet, music is still the one thing that keeps me steady and sane. You don’t fuck with shit that does you right. Especially when it’s all you’ve got. I just wish… If wishes were horses, beggars would ride. “Happy fucking birthday,” Rob says. “Yeah, cheers, asshole.” I raise my glass and swallow the whole drink in three big gulps. Rob snickers and wanders over to a customer waving bills at him from the register. The guy one seat away from me laughs, so I glance at him. He’s hunched over the bar like he’s guarding his drink, with his head turned toward me.

Five o’ clock shadow, pierced eyebrow, dark brown fauxhawk, plugs in his earlobes—not too big, though. He wears a black wool pea coat-looking thing, jeans, and a pair of dark sunglasses. “Something funny, Shades?” I ask. “Your boyfriend leaving you for Jesus.” He has kind of a gruff voice. His face is okay, but it’s hard to tell what he really looks like with those glasses covering his most important features. I like his hands, though. They’re rough like mine. “I knew something was wrong with him when he complained about me asking for anal. What guy doesn’t want anal?” I twirl my empty glass by its long stem.

“He was kind of a dick trickle, so it’s not like I miss him or anything. Though the sex was decent. Better than my current prospects.” Damn, I’m dying for another drink. Maybe just one more. I’m pretty sure I got a couple bucks stuffed in my car’s ashtray for emergencies. I shoot a bird at Rob, who nods. “Definitely something wrong with a guy who doesn’t want to sodomize his woman.” Shades takes a sip from his glass. A wrist tattoo peeks out from his coat sleeve. I can’t tell what it is.

“Nah, I wanted to sodomize him. He wasn’t on board with the plan. That’s when the Holier Than Thou shit started. ‘Jesus doesn’t approve of butt-fucking.’ Jesus this. Jesus that. What the hell, man? Don’t you think Jesus would want you to be happy? How will you ever be happy if you don’t try new things? Christ, it’s just a dildo up the ass. Loosen the fuck up.” Shades chokes on his drink, wipes his mouth with a coat sleeve, and laughs. Gorgeous teeth. A glass slides across the bar from Rob a few feet away. I stop it with my open hand and smile. Rob grins and saunters over.

“I got you this Flaming Armadillo for your birthday, my dear. I hope it fits.” He flicks his lighter and ignites the liquid in the glass. Blue flames dance. I salivate. “Rob, it’s perfect. You shouldn’t have.” “You’re welcome.” I pick up the shot and blow it out. To another year of dream chasing. Maybe this’ll be the one where I finally make it big. “Happy birthday to me.” Gulp.

Down the chute it goes, and I lose five IQ points as the alcohol gets busy with my already precarious brain chemistry. At least somebody’s getting some action. Shades raises his glass and shoots whatever he’s drinking. “Did you make a wish?” I’m not telling my real wish.

That shit won’t come true if you spill it. Instead, I say, “All I want for my birthday is to get fucked unconscious with no strings attached.” Not a lie. “What a coincidence. I’ve got a big dick, a bar tab, and the local cab company’s number on speed dial.” The guy’s eyes bore into me from behind the dark lenses, and I have a momentary lapse in vaginal secretion control. Clean up on aisle twelve, stat! * * * * *

Book 2 in the Hard Rock Harlots Series

WARNING: BEATS is specially formulated for horn dogs, porn oglers, smut peddlers, BDSM junkies, M/M and M/M/F addicts, DP dabblers, and lovers of A2M backdoor sexy times. If you don’t fall into these categories, can’t stomach hot man-on-man action, or if you have no idea what the above acronyms mean, please back away from BEATS now. This isn’t the book you’re looking for. Failure to heed this warning could inadvertently throw unauthorized users into a persistent vegetative state, or at the very least, require administration of a defibrillator to the chest and/or groin area. Nobody wants that.

For months, shy drummer Jinx Hardwick has been silently crushing on her tall, dark, and scary bandmate, Toombs Badcock. Drawn to his frightening ink and scars, she yearns to uncover the shadowy secrets lurking behind his silver eyes, but Jinx is too intimidated to even look at him, let alone talk to him. When she stumbles upon Toombs and their manipulative lead guitarist Rax in a compromising position, Jinx realizes her chances of winning Toombs’s heart aren’t just a long shot—they’re nonexistent. To make matters worse, Jinx’s family needs her at home. She’s about to back away from it all—Toombs, the band, her dreams of fame and fortune—when Rax makes her an offer she can’t refuse: a no-holds-barred night alone with Toombs. There’s one small catch. She has to go through Rax to get it.

Goodreads:

Synopsis:

NOCTURNES contains 511 F-bombs, 81 well-endowed male chickens, 65 girl kitties, 58 Richard the Lessers, 10 C-U-Next-Tuesdays, and a plethora of other colorful words and phrases that would deafen your virginal mother’s ears and make her bust out her “Shame on you!” finger. If you’ve been tuned in since the beginning of the Hard Rock Harlots series, you know the drill. The sex is extreme, the language is graphic, and the story is over the top. Prudes and under 18s need not apply.

WARNING: NOCTURNES addresses serious topics such as alcoholism, prostitution, and cheating. If you’re looking for a barrel of laughs or sunshine and rainbows, this is NOT the book for you.

Rax Wrathbone is the dirty rock star you love to hate. The filthy fantasy slithering through your bed sheets. The serpent in your lady garden. The snake bite in your panties that keeps you sweating all night. He. Is. Sex.

And he’s no good. For anyone.

After a nasty breakup with his best friend and their band’s drummer, Rax is flying solo for the first time in years. Who needs the drama of commitment when the line for your humping booth spans three city blocks? No, groupies and liquor are far finer company than relationships, and they don’t leave bruises after they’ve had their way with you. At least not lasting ones.

Rax’s new adventures as an alcoholic, guitar-slashing one-man show are going along swimmingly until the only woman who’s ever brought him to his knees shimmies down a pole back into his life. Eve doesn’t abide excessive drinking, she has sex with strangers for a living, and she can’t remember Rax’s name to save her life.

She’s perfect in every way.

Now, if he could just get sober long enough to forget his past and convince Eve he’s worthy of her future…

My Review

5 of 5 Suddenly Sorceress

OMG first I have to say that I absolutely love Erica Lucke Dean! She had me on the floor laughing my ass off because some of the situations in this book had me holding my ribs because I was laughing so effing hard. I am not going to give away any spoilers but I will say this if you want a crazy mix of chick lit and paranormal with a side of revenge then this is the story for you.

Ivie is living her dream. She is a kindergarten teacher and she is engaged to a very popular Chiropractor Matt. She thinks she has the life until one day she is waiting for Matt to come home and when he does he is there to break off the engagement and tell her he has moved on and is marrying someone else. Lord she gets so mad I mean she saw red and something snapped inside her and she turns Matt into a skunk.

Lord I have never laughed so hard in my life! She turned that lying cheating bastard into a skunk and now she has to find a way to change him back into a human. This is where the hot ass magician comes in. Jackson aka Jack is a magician and he is going to help Ivie change Matt back to a human. But along the way Ivie and Jack start to have feelings for one another and can't keep their hands off one another and holy eff the scenes between these two is hot and steamy and yes you will need a glass of ice cubes.

So what happens to the Matt the skunk? Does Ivie and Jack change him back or will Ivie go to jail for murder?????????????????? This is one kick ass story!

Prologue

“You’re too sexy, my ass!” I tried to tune out the Right Said Fred ringtone as I fished my fiancĂ©’s cell phone from the pocket of his discarded Dockers. I glared at the flashing caller ID. “You just don’t give up, do you?”

That was lucky number thirteen. Thirteen missed calls in the span of an hour. Thirteen calls he was unable to answer.

Because of me.

After pressing ignore one more time, I shoved the phone back into the pocket where it belonged, hoping it would muffle the sound somewhat. I didn’t know why I didn’t just turn off the damn thing. I’d endured his ridiculous ring tone more times than anyone should have to, obviously determined to punish myself. Between the maddening song and the horrible smell, I certainly felt punished. Even if it wasn’t nearly enough.

Way down deep in my bones, I knew my life had been forever changed. Even if I could somehow fix things—put them back to normal—nothing would be the same again. Not ever.

Swallowing against the crystal ball-sized lump in my throat, I dropped Matt’s pants where I’d found them, along with his shirt, his boxers, and his shoes, and I collapsed onto the rumpled blankets on the bed.

That sort of thing didn’t happen in the real world. Only small children or crazy people believed in… no, I refused to even think the word, let alone say it. It’s impossible. But I’d seen it with my own eyes, and whatever it was, it definitely wasn’t normal.

My scruffy housecat made another frantic orbit around my feet as the phone sounded again, the self-centered lyrics looping, making me cringe. Apparently, he’d also grown weary of the tune.

If only I could say the choice of ring tone was ironic, a product of his wry sense of humor. But he didn’t have much of a sense of humor. Matthew Green was exactly that arrogant. Despite every despicable thing he’d done to me, every insult, lie, and betrayal that had led us there, I truly wished Matt could answer his stupid phone himself. Unfortunately, wishing didn’t seem to be on my side that morning.

Stifling a groan, I pulled myself from the warmth of the bed to dig the phone out of Matt’s pocket again. Geez, persistent much? With a deep, cleansing breath, I mashed down the button to accept the call.

“Matt! Where are you?” Matt’s receptionist, Ginger, snapped before I had a chance to say hello. “Friday’s your busiest day. Do you have any idea what time it is? You’ve already missed two appointments.”

Even without caller ID, I would have recognized her breathy Betty Boop voice. She sounded as though she’d been sucking helium all morning. I didn’t know her well, but I suspected she was banging my fiancĂ©.

“We’ll be lucky if there’s enough time for a quickie before the next patient arrives,” she continued in a whisper.

Yep… definitely banging him.

“And another thing.” Her sweet baby voice morphed into a feral growl. “Candy’s been standing outside your office all morning. I thought you said you were done with her? I’m not kidding, Matt, if I find out you’re still screwing her, I’m going to cut off your balls.”

Apparently, I was engaged to a pathological cheater. Of course, I hadn’t known that when I agreed to marry him. There were a lot of things I didn’t know about Matt. Then again, there was a lot I didn’t know about me.

“Well? Aren’t you going to say anything?”

“Uh… hi, Ginger.” I cleared my throat and resisted the urge to “say anything.” “This is Ivie. Matt can’t come to the phone. I… uh… don’t think he’s going to be able to… uh… make it into work today.” I managed to stammer through the basics without my voice cracking.

“Oh, hi, Ivie.” Her voice changed again; she sounded as if she’d been sucking lemons. She didn’t even have the decency to be embarrassed. “What’s wrong with Matt? He hasn’t missed a day in… Actually, I don’t think he’s ever called in sick.”

My eyes darted to the closed bathroom door, and I shuddered. “He’s really not feeling like himself today.” Understatement of the century.

“Is he sick?”

“Um… I definitely don’t think anyone wants what he has.” I tiptoed around the answer. I wasn’t good at coy, but I gave it my best shot.

“Oh… Well, in that case, maybe it’s best if he stays home.” I could almost see her coiling a lock of her thick red hair around her finger as she spoke. “Just tell him I hope he feels better, and not to worry. I’ll reschedule his appointments for him. Do you think he’ll be well enough to come in Monday?”

I tamped down a flicker of panic. “I really hope so.” But I seriously doubt it.

After listening to Ginger rant for a minute about missed appointments and the difficult task of rescheduling, I ended the call, staring at the bathroom door as if I expected a silent command to open it. I closed my eyes and tried to imagine the door swinging wide and my fiancĂ© sauntering out. I popped open one eye. The door hadn’t moved—not even a crack.

For far too long, I’d avoided that room. With three tentative steps, I closed the distance between myself and the master bathroom, covering my mouth and nose with one hand as I cracked the door. I’d almost gotten used to the foul odor in the bedroom. It was bad but not unbearable. The stench in the bathroom was overwhelming. The fumes poured out, bringing tears to my eyes. The small space reeked worse than when I’d locked him in there last night. It smelled as if someone had cooked up a potion of burning tires and rotten eggs in a boiling vat of sour ammonia, and even that comparison wasn’t quite bad enough.

Blinking back the sting of tears, I scanned the room. I didn’t see him anywhere, just a puddle that looked suspiciously like urine in one corner and in the other, a makeshift bed fashioned out of—were those my good bath towels?

No Matt.

A quick rush of adrenaline kick-started my heart. What’s happened to him now? This is bad. Very, very bad. As if things weren’t bad enough already. What sort of person was I? What I’d done was unspeakable, so horrible even I didn’t know what I’d done.

Just as I was about to have a full-blown panic attack, he slinked out from behind the hamper. I should have been relieved he was still alive, but I wasn’t sure if his current state was much better. He stared up at me—his beady little black eyes blinking in the harsh fluorescent light—so much smaller than he used to be and covered in a thick pelt of black and white fur. My fiancĂ©.

The skunk.

Guest Post:

I’m not proud of it, but I once had to cut myself out of a pair of pantyhose. I don’t know what possessed me to put them on. Okay, that’s not true. I was possessed by my need to hide my expanding midsection. And believe me, I knew I should’ve taken responsibility for my lack of self-control and willpower around sweets, but I’m going to go right ahead and say it… I blamed the holidays. And when I say “holidays,” I mean all of them. Every. Last. Holiday.

It begins with Halloween. Back up. It begins sometime in September when the Halloween candy first goes on sale. You’ve seen it. Those bags of miniature Hershey’s, Snickers, and Reese’s, piled up in the center aisle of the stores. Every store. Bright colored wrappings designed to draw in the eye. The smell of chocolate permeating every square inch of the place. And you can’t just walk by. You have to grab a few bags. The sign says so. It says get your candy now!

So I do. I toss a few bags into my grocery cart and finish my shopping. But when I get home—easily six weeks before Halloween, mind you—those same bags of candy call my name. Oh sure, I tossed them into the freezer, because out of sight, out of mind, but unless my husband installs a lock on my freezer door, they’re not going to be far enough out of sight. And hardly out of mind. (Who doesn’t love mini Reese’s right out of the freezer? Am I right?)

So I eat one. One. Piece. Of. Candy. But I do this over and over, because who can eat just one? Before I know it, I’m out of Halloween candy, and it’s still a month away. So, of course, I buy more. I even buy the stuff I don’t like in hopes that I’ll be able to resist. But within days (okay, hours) of bringing it home, I’m breaking into that bag of Mary Jane’s like nobody’s business. Then I eat all the Tootsie pops (and don’t ask how many licks it took to get to the center, because I don’t know) and I have the sticky lips to prove it. By the 31st, I’m officially candied out. But you can’t waste the leftovers…am I right?

November 1st—I feel like I’m going to get a reprieve. I’m going to give up the sweets. But the Halloween candy is half off. Half. Off. And once I’ve gone through all of that, it’s time for pie. Pumpkin. Apple. Pecan. The entire month of November is dedicated to preparing for Thanksgiving. And once that’s over, it’s time for Christmas. Christmas cookies. Christmas candies. Christmas fudge. Bake. Bake. Bake. All I do is bake. And when I bake, I absolutely MUST taste test. And then I have to bake again because I’ve tested the entire batch. By the end of December, I’m anxious for my New Year Resolution to give up sweets.

But that only lasts until the Valentine’s Day candy hits the shelves.

Oh, Valentine’s Day. Chocolate, chocolate everywhere. Eat enough to puke. And the Valentine’s Day flowers haven’t even wilted when the Easter candy hits the shelves. And right in the middle of all that? The freaking Girl Scouts show up with their addictive Thin Mints. And those little crack peddlers know there’s nothing better than a frozen Thin Mint.

I once ate an entire sleeve of cookies belonging to a coworker. I know what you’re thinking. I didn’t mean to eat them. They were calling my name, so I had to see what they wanted. And the package was opened. Someone had already taken one, but they’d left the rest unattended.

I blame them. Who leaves an open box of Thin Mints in the break room freezer unless they want someone to eat them? Right? And how was I supposed to resist such delicious temptation? Exactly. I don’t have super human strength. I’m only one woman. One woman with a major problem.

Which is exactly why I quit my job the bank and became a full time writer who lives and breathes in her favorite pajamas. I’ll never have to wear panty hose again. Problem solved.

"I’m an author of fluffy romance and paranormal romance novels, with a twist. I blog about life in my haunted farmhouse and other ridiculous things. And I laugh at myself when I trip. ”

After walking away from her career as a business banker to pursue writing full-time, Erica moved from the hustle and bustle of the big city to a small tourist town in the North Georgia Mountains where she lives in a 90-year-old haunted farmhouse with her workaholic husband, her 180-lb. lap dog, and at least one ghost.

How she’s managed to survive this long is one of life’s great mysteries.

BSBS Promotions Presents A Release Day Blitz For Yes, Master By Margaret Mcheyzer

My uncle abused me.

I was 10 years old when it started.

At 13 he told me I was no longer wanted because I had started to develop.

At 16 I was ready to kill him.

Today, I’m broken. Today, I only breathe to survive.

My name’s Sergeant Major Ryan Jenkins and today, I’m ready to tell you my story.

“Master would flog me if I did, she won’t be happy when I tell her what happened here.

” “Master?”

 “Stella.”

 Oh, Master.

I do as I’m asked and close my eyes as I anticipate her heavenly touch. She brings her hands up to start washing my torso and I let a huge expulsion of air out of my lungs, I didn’t even realize I was holding it in. I concentrate on her hands as they slowly rub circular motions all over my body.

When she gets to my thighs, my chest rumbles and lets out a low deep moan. The way her hands are caressing and grazing over my body with the lightest of touches is sending my own feelings of lust into overdrive.

“Hmmm,” I moan again as her fingertips brush against my cock. “I know, babe,” Stella says as she captures my mouth in hers. She nips on my top lip but her tongue doesn’t come out to greet mine.

This kiss is different to all the others she’s given me. This one simple act conveys volumes without saying a single fucking word.

Stella and I both feel the same thing. I know that I’m more than just her submissive and she’s more than just my Domme.

“You found me when I was lost,” I murmur against her lips.

 “Together, we’ll find your way.”

Yes, Master is ON SALE for only 99 PENNIES!!!

I don't do 'normal'. I've found that the more I write, the more I like being different to other authors. I write in first person, and I love to challenge a reader. I take the normal and switch it around.

For me, I really enjoy getting a reaction from a reader. So if I can evoke an emotion (regardless of if it's the emotion the reader wants) then I figure that I've done my job as an author I want to be.

I really quite revel in taking people out of their comfort zones and pushing them to read something different. My genre of writing is, well quite frankly, where ever my mind goes. I won't label myself because I don't like sticking to one genre.

My goal with writing is just to take people away from whatever is going on in their lives, even if it's only for a split second. I'm a go with the flow sort of person and don't really take a course of action to get where I am going.

I live in the moment and don't usually worry about tomorrow because whatever life is due to bring me, I'll be happy to accept. I love my family and friends and will help anyway I can if someone needs it.

I really don't like people that are nasty just because they can be, I don't believe that's necessary, I mean life's hard enough as it is! I hope you enjoy my books, I've had a hoot writing them.

There's more to come..... Til next time. M xx

Collaboration by Michelle Lynn & Nevaeh Lee Review & Interview

Synopsis:

This is not your typical rock star romance. For one, the “rock star” is a rapper. And not just any rapper. Trace is the hottest ticket in the music industry right now, regardless of which definition of ‘hot’ you choose.

Taryn Starr is not the girl-next-door who unknowingly meets a celebrity. Known as “America’s Sweetheart,” the reigning country music princess and world-renowned superstar knows exactly who Trace is…or does she?

Their worlds collide when the musicians whose paths were never destined to cross are forced by their joint record label to collaborate on a song. The sparks fly and ignite a fire that blazes hotter with every minute they spend together—for better or worse. One thing’s for certain, the two media magnets can’t deny their explosive chemistry, but will life in the spotlight ultimately bring Trace and Taryn together or force them apart?

***This contemporary romance new adult novel is for mature audiences. The language alone would make a sailor blush (the guy’s a rapper, remember?) so 18+ only, please.

My Review

5 of 5 Trace & Taryn

Okay where to start with this review..... I have no idea because my emotions are all over the place. I loved loved this book and I need more of Trace and Taryn. I love rap music and I love country music so when I started reading about Taryn and Trace I was so excited.

Taryn is country's music sweetheart. She sings her heart out night after night but she is not happy. She is almost like a robot because her mother tells her what to do and when to do it and she has her record label breathing down her neck as well. So when she finds out she is going to be doing a collaboration with rap stars superstar Trace she tells her mother no way no how because she is not going to be doing no song with him. But her mother tells her she will do the song or the label is done with her.

Trace is number one in the rap world and he is loving it. Well not really because there are so many demands on him and he can't do anything because the paparazzi is on him like white on rice and he has to be very careful what he does and what he says. He is known as the bad boy male ho of the rap world. Then he is thrown a curve ball to get his image back under control. He is told he will do a collaboration with country music's sweetheart and he is like hell no!

As the two start the collaboration they also begin a friendship. They talk all the time and text in between shows because they are both on tour. So when they get together to do the video for their song the two of them realize they have feelings for one another but can the feelings ever go anywhere? Can Trace and Taryn find a common ground and become a couple? This is a MUST READ!!!!!!!

Interview With Nevaeh:

Today on Kaidans Seduction we have a special guest Nevaeh Lee author of Collaboration. Nevaeh thank you so much for stopping by. First I have to say that after reading Collaboration I was an emotional mess. I have never read a book where I had to put it down because I was crying like crazy. I mean you read about stars getting together and breaking up but this one was so crazy because you never really stop to think about what the artist is going through and how they are trying to maintain a relationship out of the public eye. I love Trace & Taryn. They both come from different worlds Trace being a rap artist and Taryn being the Country music sweetheart.

How did you and Michelle Lynn come up with the idea for Collaboration?

Ironically enough, it was watching a music video (a collaboration, of course;) between BoB and Hayley Williams (of Paramore) called “Airplanes”. I liked the idea of two different artists from different genres coming together and imagined what would happen if they really came together. Looks-wise, neither of those artists were the inspiration, just the video really, especially the part where BoB raps about just wanting to get back to making music, a time before the “rap game.”

What made you decide to combine rap and country music together?

After I broached Michelle with the idea, we decided we wanted the girl to be a country artist, since the contrast would be even greater. I mean, are there really any two musical genres more opposite? I’m from Texas so it made it easy for Taryn to be from there (even though I didn’t end up writing her), and Michelle lives near Chicago, which is where quite a few rappers are originally from.

Is Trace created after someone you know?

Don’t I wish! ;) No, his looks are based on the actor, Michael Ealy, and his beautiful blue-eyed self.

Is Taryn created after someone you know?

Nope, not really. A lot of comparisons have been made between her and Taylor Swift, and I can see that, but she’s really her own artist and the collaboration with Trace was her first venture outside of country music.

Trace is this hard core rapper on stage but off stage he is so different what made Trace think twice about Taryn?

Ooh, good question. I think he was drawn in by what how pure she was (not necessarily in the sexual sense;), but just genuine, you know? She loved making music and her fans (especially the younger ones) and she wasn’t caught up in the fame and fortune of it all, which deep-down, was a lot like Trace. She was also beautiful, which I’m sure didn’t hurt any LOL.

When did Trace know he wanted Taryn? What triggered that hardness in his heart to let her in?

I think what had him hook, line, and sinker was when he first heard her sing in the recording studio…somehow that got to him in a way that looks didn’t. That and seeing how serious she was about her craft, just like he was. Seeing that she was more than just a star being puppeted around by the record label. Letting her in was more of a process though; I’m not sure that happened all at once, not unlike real life, right?

Taryn is America’s sweetheart but what is she really like inside? What did she really want to do in the music industry?

Taryn truly is a sweetheart. Fortunately, she had her dad someone who kept her grounded because there’s no telling what she would have been like if it had just been her mom in the picture (a certain Lindsay Lohan comes to mind though). She really was all about the music, writing songs, performing them, making people feel because of the music she made. The stardom (and her mother) was something she just tolerated.

Why didn’t Taryn get together with Ryder? Ryder loved her something fierce and it killed him every time she turned him down.

Yeah, I’m not so certain Ryder actually loved her though. She was convenient for him, they spent a lot of time together and had a lot in common, but I don’t think he truly loved her, and maybe she sensed that. Ryder still has some growing up to do (and I’m sure that will happen quickly in the spotlight, where he is now) and someday soon you might see him get him own happily-ever-after ;)

When did Taryn realize she had fallen for Trace? What made her realize she wanted him and would sacrifice everything to be with him?

Hmm…Michelle might be a better one to ask but I’ll give that one a try. Taryn was attracted to Trace from the very beginning, there’s no doubt about that, but I’m not sure there was a single moment she “fell” for him. Recording with him, the talking and texts, and then of course, the infamous “video scene” all played their parts, but I think they were a build up to that point when she knew they should be together.

Why did Taryn’s mother treat her the way she did?

Because she was a bitch? LOL No really, Taryn’s mom was living vicariously through her daughter and she didn’t want anything to jeopardize what she had worked towards, even if it wasn’t what Taryn wanted. Basically, she cared more about the success and money and all that than she did her daughter.

When writing Collaboration how much of a role did music play? What did you listen to on loop?

Music was a huge part of Collaboration, both from a story standpoint and in the way that we were inspired to write. Because I wrote Trace, I spent a lot of time listening to any and all rap, while my co-author, Michelle, said she spent a lot of time listening to country. I also spent quite a bit of time on the rapgenius website while “researching.”

What song describes Trace?

I think different songs describe him at different points in the story. At the beginning, “If you could see me now” by the The Script fits him perfectly. His relationship with the music business in general is reflected in “Airplane” by BoB feat. Hayley Williams. After he meets Taryn, “Everything has Changed” by Taylor Swift feat. Ed Sheeran.

What song describes Taryn?

“The Lucky One” by Taylor Swift

What is your favorite rap song?

Hmm…that’s a tough one. Right now it’s “Same Love” by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. I love when artists make a statement with their music, rather than just putting people down.

What is your favorite country song?

I don’t listen to hardly any country, but I did hear a song the other day I liked called “Give me back my hometown” by Eric Church. “Cruise” by Florida-Georgia Line feat. Nelly is pretty good too (and not just because it’s a collaboration ;)

Nevaeh thank you for stopping by and sharing Trace and Taryn with us. Can you tell us if we will get more from them? I would really like to know how the new artist is doing and how their collaboration they made is doing.

You’re more than welcome. Michelle and I are talking about writing Regina’s story next, and possibly Ryder after that. Some readers have suggested that Storm-E needs his own book as well, so we’ll definitely have to consider that. Any book though would definitely have Trace and Taryn in the background though, so you can catch glimpses of how they’re doing.

About The Authors:

Nevaeh’s first exposure to writing began in a middle school creative writing class. She was reprimanded for composing a politically incorrect story and forced to re-write about a “safer” topic. Being the writing rebel that she is, Nevaeh always likes to push the envelope a bit and never re-writes, unless her editor insists on it.

When she’s not writing, Nevaeh is a freelance book editor ;). And when she’s not reading, writing, or editing, she can be found spending time with her family and taking road trips, exploring the area around wherever she happens to be living at the time. Even though “home” will always be Texas, she has lived in several different states and countries, but currently resides in the DC metro area.

She also adores her really big dog who frequently takes her for walks while enduring her many story ideas and rambling dialogue, which sometimes occurs in multiple languages. After many years of this, she finally decided to start writing out some of these stories and her first book, a joint effort calledCollaboration, will be self-published on January 26, 2014.

Michelle Lynn has always been a reader, but her passion has become a full-blown addiction since her husband bought her a Kindle for Mother's Day. She's pretty sure that he regrets this on a regular basis. Especially when she has it propped up next to the stove while she cooks, which often results in a burnt dinner. Or when he loses sleep because the glow from the screen wakes him up when he rolls over at three in the morning. He does agree, however, that she uses this gift more than any other he has ever gotten her. She joking counters that, because of some of the steamy novels she reads, he also benefits more from this gift than any other he has gotten her.  ;)

Michelle moved around the Midwest most of her life, transferring from school to school before settling down in the outskirts of Chicago ten years ago, where she now resides with her husband and two kids. She developed a love of reading at a young age, which helped lay the foundation for her passion to write. With the encouragement of her family, she finally sat down and wrote one of the many stories that have been floating around in her head. When she isn’t reading or writing, she can be found playing with her kids, talking to her mom on the phone, or hanging out with her family and friends. But after chasing around twin preschoolers all day, she always cherishes her relaxation time after putting the kids to bed.

Character Interview with Hadley and Tripp:

1. What was your first impression of one another?

Hadley: Tripp knows exactly what I thought about him (laughs). I thought he was your typical, popular jock. Boy was I wrong.

Tripp: Hadley was the shy girl at school, the one who walked with her head down and kept to herself. I thought she seemed sweet and quiet - I had no idea she was so actually this incredibly vibrant, strong person on the inside.

2. Most romantic gesture:

Hadley: I guess I'm not the romantic one of the two of us. But the most romantic thing Tripp has ever done for me was when he drew my picture. It was amazing to see myself the way he saw me.
Tripp: Hadley is romantic in the little everyday things she does. Like the way she was always remembers my favorite things and gets them for me. Also, how she always builds me up and takes care of me.

3. Most annoying trait.

Hadley: How much time do you have? (laughs). Just kidding. No, honestly I think sometimes Tripp can be a little self-depreciating and that annoys me.

Tripp: I would have to say that sometimes Hadley can be a bit of a control freak.

Hadley: I am not!

Tripp: Oh yes, you are. Even her best friend calls her the most annoying back seat driver in the world.

Hadley: That's just because Paige is an awful driver.

Tripp: (laughs) You got me there.

4. Pet names:

Hadley: I guess we don't really have pet names for each other.

Tripp: We could come up with some.

Hadley: (smiling) I think I'm good.

5. Ideal Valentine’s Day gift.

Hadley: I don't care much about material things. I think I'd like a romantic day with Tripp - just he and I. Doesn't really matter what we do but an entire day just he and I would be heaven.

Tripp: Funny I was thinking the same thing.

Hadley: Then I guess I know what we're doing this year!
