No Holly for Christmas by Julie N. Ford Blof Tour Stop

As Brian McAlister struggles to move past being jilted not once, but twice by the only woman he's ever loved, he's all but given up on relationships. Then, on special assignment for the DA's office, he crosses paths with ex-socialite turned social worker, Holly Cavanaugh Winter-and romance blossoms.
Widowed, practically penniless, and reduced to shopping at WalMart, Holly is dreading the approaching Holiday Season. However, her angst isn't due to her husband's untimely death the previous December 25th, but because of a secret that could reveal itself unless she can find a way to avoid the coming Christmas.
Love at first sight quickly turns frigid for Brian and Holly when Holly gets pulled into a manhunt for an accused murderer who now has his sights set on her. His case unraveling, Brian finds himself tasked with keeping Holly and her two daughters safe while bringing an assassin and the powerful man who hired him to justice.
A heart-warming story of suspense, healing, giving and receiving, No Holly for Christmas is the perfect addition to everyone's holiday reading list.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 HOLLIES

First I would like to give a HUGE thank you to V Book Tours for allowing me to be a part of this tour. I love Christmas time and I love Christmas stories even more. This story has so much more than a Christmas theme it has action and suspense. The author has done an excellent job telling this story. The story flows smoothly and has everything a suspense needs and wants.

Brian just wants to get over the woman he loved and the mistakes he has made in his job. Brian is given a second chance to make good and he decides he will do that. As he is working his next case he meets and falls for Holly. She is an ex socialite just trying to live day to day and raise her children. When she and Brian meet they like each other but Holly has secrets and she needs to be very careful. As the relationship grows Brian finds himself in the middle of a mess and he will do anything to save Holly and her family from a killer out to save the secret.

This story is fast paced and fun filled. It is a must read story! I don't read a lot of adult books but this one pulled me right from the start and I could not help but read it.

*** Cover Reveal *** Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy #2) by Wendy Higgins

SWEET BABY JESUS AND HADES WENDY HIGGINS HAS GOTTEN A DEAL TO FINISH THE TRILOGY OF SWEET EVIL. HERE IS THE SECOND BOOK SWEET PERIL DUE OUT APRIL 30, 2013
Anna Whitt, daughter of a guardian angel and a demon, promised herself she’d never do the work of her father—polluting souls. She’d been naive to make such a claim. She’d been naive about a lot of things.

Haunted by demon whisperers, Anna does whatever she can to survive, even if it means embracing her dark side and earning an unwanted reputation as her school’s party girl. Her life has never looked more bleak. And all the while there’s Kaidan Rowe, son of the Duke of Lust, plaguing her heart and mind.

When an unexpected lost message from the angels surfaces, Anna finds herself traveling the globe with Kopano, son of Wrath, in an attempt to gain support of fellow Nephilim and give them hope for the first time. It soon becomes clear that whatever freedoms Anna and the rest of the Neph are hoping to win will not be gained without a fight. Until then, Anna and Kaidan must put aside the issues between them, overcome the steamiest of temptations yet, and face the ultimate question: is loving someone worth risking their life?

Publisher: Decadent

Book Description:

A quiet, lakeside vacation is just what Brielle needs to decompress after her busy concert season. She expects the weeks to pass uneventfully. Until she meets the men next door.

Tyler and Zeke are as adventurous and sexy as the Harleys they ride. The passion they hear in Brielle's music draws them to her.

Convinced the hunks are gay, Brielle lets down her inhibitions. That turns out to be the best decision she's made in a long time.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 NIGHT MUSIC

******* THIS IS AN 18+ REVIEW INTENDED FOR ADULTS DUE TO LANGUAGE AND SEXUAL ACTIVITY *******

Let me start by saying this is a novella that is part of a series and HOLY HADES is it HAWT!

Brielle plays in an orchestra and she needs some down time. She needs some me time as I like to call it. Her and her boyfriend broke up and shes a little stressed. So she decides to go to her uncles cabin fro some R and R. The only thing is when she gets there she realizes she is not alone and her company is hotter than Hades on the hottest day! Her next door neighbors are absolutely GORGEOUS and she starts to have fantasies about them. When she talks to them they agree to share a night together. It is just what Brielle needs to calm her nerves but what she gets in return is so much more.

This is a short Novella that contains sex scenes that include a threesome and some male on male action. I have to say that this is a bedtime story that will leave you with dreams that will take your breathe away!

Excerpt:

Brielle had stopped at the local market to get enough supplies for a few days. She had no intention of going to town unless there was a darn good reason. After her clothing and other belongings were unpacked, she opened a bottle of wine—one of several she’d bought—and contemplated the glorious evening sun.

The rumble of motorcycles disrupted her musings. She craned her neck to see who the offenders were.

Two men on leather-bedecked hogs cruised down the neighboring driveway. She watched from the seclusion of her covered porch as they got off and parked their bikes. Leather chaps covered their jeans. Boots and black leather vests made them look badass. She waited for them to remove their helmets and reveal more of their features.

She wasn’t disappointed.

One of the broad-shouldered men had flaxen hair. The second man ran his hands through his dark hair that reached his shoulders. Even from a distance, she could tell they were in good physical shape, and probably in their late twenties. A twinge of naughtiness plucked her libido. Her vacation was already looking up.

The bike-riding neighbors unpacked their saddlebags and carried their gear into their cabin. The door shut softly behind them and returned the peace and quiet they’d interrupted.

Brielle watched the sun dip lower, streaking the sky with brilliant red, orange, and yellow against the clear blue backdrop. The deep sounds of a motoryacht’s engines mixed with the haunting sounds from the loons.

Inspired, she refilled her wineglass, and then brought her cello to the three-season porch. She moved her bow across the taut strings, warming up, wondering what she should play. She sipped her wine while searching through her extensive music collection. Her hand rested on Bach’s Toccata and Fugue in D Minor. Did she dare? Could she play with even half the passion Mei Ju had the other day?

Closing her eyes, Brielle focused on the sounds and sight of Mr. Ju on stage.

Will that ever be me?

She drew her bow back and forth on the strings to play the fiery interludes and soulful chords. Brielle imagined herself in front of the orchestra, the way Ju had been, and did her best to do justice to the piece he’d played so brilliantly.

As she played the last, low note, she noticed the two men standing on their porch, watching her. Heat flared in her cheeks, whether from the exertion of playing or the embarrassment of their witness, she didn’t know.

One man began clapping.

Not expecting that reaction, she chuckled.

“Play something else,” said the man with the long hair.

Thinking they were making fun of her, she closed her music and stood. “Funny guy.”

“No, really, play some more.”

She contemplated the request for a moment. “You’re not going to call the cops?”

The blond one laughed. “Oh, hell no. Come on. Play something hot and sexy.”

Bolstered by their enthusiasm, she wondered what she could play that might fit the bill. “Just a minute.” A number of titles ran through her mind and she dismissed them all. Ah, the perfect one.

The Bone Cruncher hasn’t visited in a while, and Estella thinks it’s something she did. Misery loves company, but she loves food more. Putting on a smile, she musters up an erotic story. But can she make it to the end of the tale without comfort eating?

To onlookers, Seren lived the high life in London with her orchestra conductor of a husband. She had a major case of unrequited love for her best friend, though, so their relationship was doomed from the beginning. Divorce papers served, it’s time for her to go back to her hometown on the England-Wales border and face the music.

Owen, now a postman of their little market town, is thrilled to see Seren when he shows up at her doorstep with mail. It’s not long before they’re releasing their pent up lust and love for each other. Within that mail, though, are letters addressed to Seren’s parents. They’re from her ex and hold a truth Seren is too fearful to face. Even with Owen by her side.

MY REVIEW

4 OF 5 BITTERSWEET SYMPHONY

******* THIS IS AN EROTIC NOVELLA. PLEASE 18 YEARS OR OLDER TO READ THIS REVIEW *******

First I would like to thank FMB blog tours for allowing me to read and review Bittersweet Symphony. I had no idea that such a short Novella could pack so much punch! I have not read the first two books and it is highly recommended because I was a little lost but once I got what the story was I really enjoyed it.

This is a novella told from the point of view of the Vampire Queen who is telling a story to her zombie lady lover. Sounds weird but it really is not about them but Serena and Owen. They have been in love for years but can not be together. Serena is married and taking care of her mother when she meets up with Owen again. They love each other and can't stay away from each other.

What is a girl to do when she wants someone other than her husband? Will she and Owen get together? This is a short novella but it is packed with lot's of sex. I would recommend reading the first two Novellas before reading this one.

Excerpt #1:

Adult Excerpt:

Using her tongue, she parted his lips to explore his mouth. His warm, erratic breath and strong hold welcomed her into deeper kisses. Frantic. Desperate. She sank her fingers into the hair curled over his nape and pulled him closer still.

She couldn’t believe it. She was snogging the mud pie-making, tampon-throwing, Spiderman climbing Owen. Judging by his erection prodding at her stomach, he was as thrilled as she.

He roamed her bottom over her clothes. At that moment, she resented her mother’s quilted dressing gown. Breasts were next for his attentive touch, and the plump flesh of her tits squished up with the pressure.

Pulling away, he glared down. “This dressing gown has to go.” He tugged at the knotted rope, loosened the tangled mess, and slipped the granny-styled nuisance to the floor to reveal a red number. Why she’d been wearing it, she’d never know. It wasn’t like she thought anyone would see her in it. But there she was, laced to the nines with her hard nipples poking through.

“Much better.” He leaned in and flicked his tongue over her semi-exposed nub, causing the delicate mesh of her negligee to scrape at the sensitive skin. Another lick. Then he puckered his mouth around her...

Only through madame Eve these three well meet but are they Menage Bound?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 MENAGE BOUND

******* THIS REVIEW HAS SOME MATURE MATERIAL IN IT. THIS IS AN 18 YEARS OLD AND OVER REVIEW *******

HOLY COW......

A Menage Bound has a little of everything in it. It is a short story and had me wanting more no I needed more. Siddella is a women who controls everything in her life. She likes it like that but she has a secret that no one knows about. She would love to have two men dominate her in the bed.Who wouldn't want that right??? Well as she is drowning her sorrows at the bar the bar tender gives her a ticket for a one night stand. At first she thinks it is crazy but then she meets the men of her dreams Chase and Jason.

Chase and Jason are a couple but they would like to broaden their horizons by having a women added to their love making. When they tell the bar tender he gives them a card for a one night stand. At first they don't think they will find someone until they meet the perfect girl Siddella. She loves to be a submissive and she is good at it. The sex is SPECTACULAR between the three of them and the only complaint I have is I need more of these three!

Excerpt:

“Something the matter, Siddella? You can back out at any time.”

The tenderness came from Chase.

Back out? Hell no! Her body thrummed with so much sexual energy she could probably power the Vegas Strip for at least a week. She offered an innocent smile. “I’m good. Let’s do this.” Batting her eyelashes, she cocked her head to the side.

Jason smirked. “Do you want a safe word?”

The smart move would be to say yes. Somehow, she thought it wouldn’t be needed. But—

“Unlike my partner, I’m not asking. I’m giving you one. Wine bottle. If things get too heavy, you simply say wine bottle.” Chase didn’t look back at her.

His air of cool made her knees weak. “Wine bottle. Okay.” At least they were thinking of her safety. Yeah, they possessed the traits of true dominant males who valued her existence enough to give her a safe word. She smiled at the gesture.

The elevator dinged. Siddella started forward, but fingers gripping her shoulder stopped her. She looked back at Jason.

His eyes narrowed.

She let out a sigh. “Please, after you.”

Jason stepped into the elevator, followed by Chase. Then they turned and, with the slightest of movements, acknowledged Siddella, giving her permission to enter.

The material of her shirt began irritating her already hard nipples. Anticipation drove her wild. What would these men do to her?

What would start things off?

A few more moments would pass before she found out.

Two minutes later, the elevator reached the penthouse suite.

Doors opened at a snail’s pace.

Jason and Chase stepped forward, turned to face each other. Then they looked at Siddella and each extended an arm. Chase blinked. “Last chance before you step into the den of iniquity. You may always trust that we’ll keep you safe. If you refuse, we part ways now. No harm, no foul.”

“So,” Jason set a hand on his hip, “will you come with us?”

Determinant (The Guardians of Vesturon #3) by A.M. Hargrove Blog Tour Stop

January St. Davis, on her own since the age of sixteen and struggling to stay in college, thinks she’s scored in a major way when she lands a paid summer internship at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta. One evening, after working an especially long shift, a chance encounter with a group of mysterious men alters the course of her life.

Rykerian Yarrister, a Guardian of Vesturon with unearthly powers and impossibly gorgeous looks, finds himself at odds over the human female he recently saved from certain death. When it seems he is on the verge of winning her over, she is ripped from his hands by a strange and powerful being, threatening to destroy her if his demands are not met.

Do Rykerian and the Guardians have the ability to meet this fierce barbarian’s ultimatums, or will January suffer a horrid demise?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 GUARDIANS

HOLY HADES AND ARES!

Can I just say where to begin...... I read this book is 7 hours! I told the kids to leave me alone and go bother their father because mommy needed some "ME" time! Okay that is how good this book is. Laundry and cooking and cleaning be dammed! A.M. has crafted and created a world where I want to live minus the bad stuff and the diseases of course. But HOLY HADES Rykerian can we have Alien babies??

January has had a rough life. She has lost a friend who has just up and disappeared and her parents treat her badly and she has two jobs. Dam can you say HOLY STRESS!What person would not go insane with all that on her plate. So when she gets some bright news that she has chosen to work at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention in Atlanta she is excited to be starting something new. But as her luck would have it one night she is working when she sees some men come in and take some vials out of the center.

January is saved by Rykerian who is a Guardian. Rykerian takes her home to make sure she will be safe. Then when she is kidnapped everything changes for Rykerian because he will stop at nothing to get January back. January means a lot to Rykerian and he is determined to get her back safe and sound and in his arms again. Love is a crazy thing because he is willing to risk it all to get the love of his life back.

A.M. has done a superb job with the villains as well. I love me some bad boys and boy of boy does she have a few in this book that had me wishing they were real. Give this series a go because it is totally EPIC and it will leave you breathless and drooling for more!
One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodgeball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what lap top out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone and hit #4 on her speed dial.

"Hello."

"Boss, is that you?"

"Why yes, A. M., who else would be answering my phone?"

"Er... right. Well, I'm calling to let you know you can pick up my luxury Ford Focus at Starbucks near the interstate."

"Why ever would I want to do that?"

"Because I quit you idiot!"

A.M. hit the end button and speed dialed her husband.

"Hi yummy hubby, can you pick me up at Starbucks?"

"Sure... Having some car trouble?"

"Not at all. I don't have a car to have trouble with because I just quit my job."

"WHAT?!"

"It's time for a new career and I am going to be a very famous novelist."

So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a young adult paranormal romance author of self-published ebooks. Her series, The Guardians of Vesturon, centers around a family of six siblings and is a mix of humor, mystery, suspense and of course, love. Survival is her first book in the series and her second, Resurrection will be released in January.

If you're wondering, it didn't happen EXACTLY that way, but....

The Acropolis (Acropolis #1) by R.K. Ryals Blog Tour Stop

"We have a new assignment for you, Mr. Reinhardt."

These words are not comforting to me. At eighteen, I am a gargoyle who has been demoted because I broke the rules. Now I have a new mission, a new mark to protect. But I don't expect Emma Chase. I don't expect to question my own race. I don't expect to care for my own mark. And I am not prepared for what I find at The Acropolis.

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 GARGOYLES

The Acropolis is a new and refreshing read for me. I read an ARC copy for the blog tour I am participating in hosted by AToMR. I have to say that this book blew me away. I have never ever read a book about Gargoyles so when I started reading this book I was afraid it was going to be weird but on the contrary RK does a superb job at combining the Gargoyles and humans beautifully.

Conor Reinhardt is a Gargoyle and he lives to protect others. He loves doing his job until he breaks some rules and is demoted. He now has to watch over a human Emma Chase. Conor is not thrilled with his new assignment because he must get Emma to the school called The Acropolis safe and sound and that is no easy task. But Conor will do whatever it takes to protect mankind so if getting Emma there in one piece is what he is to do then he will do it.

What Conor does not expect is to really like Emma as a person and then something more. As he sets out protecting her and bringing her to her new school he explains things to her and she finds out what she is. Together the two of them will discover that sometimes people hide things from you with the best intentions but in the end when you find out the truth it is what you do with that truth is what will define you. Together Conor sets out to help Emma but what they get in return is much more than they ever expected.
I am a Native Mississippian who started writing in elementary school. I was a reserved child who threw away almost everything I wrote. Later, when I was older, I discovered the crumpled pieces of my work in a box in my mother's hope chest. When I asked her why she saved the work, she replied,

"What you considered trash, I considered genius."

It has been my motto ever since. My mother passed in 2005. She is missed.

I am the scatterbrained (no lie) mother of three, and I live in Mississippi with my husband and three divalicious daughters and a female shitszu (also a diva)named Tinkerbell. My poor husband!

Redemption is a three book series following young, brash Dayton Blainey. The first two books are now available on Amazon.com for kindle and in print.

Review Blitz For The Modified (The Biotics Trilogy, #1) by C.A. Kunz

What would you sacrifice to save the one’s you love? To save the one who holds your heart? To save the world?

Kenley Grayson is all too familiar with these questions.

After Earth is thrust into its first intergalactic war with an unknown race called the Bringers, our military forces begin to suffer heavy losses. Desperate for a solution, the Allied Federation issues a worldwide draft for every able seventeen-year-old to enlist. As Kenley turns seventeen, she finds herself thrown into the very war that took her older brother’s life.

This year’s draft is a little different than in the past though. A new program, known as the Magnus Project, has been introduced, and only the best and brightest qualify. Kenley is amongst a select few whom are chosen to join this elite group of soldiers, and as a part of this project, undergoes a modification procedure that leaves her and her peers endowed with powers beyond their wildest dreams.

As Earth continues in its struggle against the Bringers, Kenley is transported to a high-tech training facility, the Magnus Academy, to prepare for the major battle that lies ahead. It’s here that she meets the California heartthrob, and son of a legendary war hero, Landon Shaw. As unexpected feelings toward Landon begin to develop, Kenley wonders if this is the right time or place for romance to bloom, especially when those feelings start to interfere with her training.

With the weight of the world on her shoulders, Kenley is constantly reminded of how important she and the rest of the Magnus cadets are to the fate of humanity. She is one of the Modified, Earth’s last line of defense against utter destruction.

HOLY MODIFIED!

Where to start with this review. OMG This mother and son duo has done it again. I can't even fully explain what happened in this book without thinking back to what I just read. The Modified is something straight off of SYFY and I am so glad I was able to read it.

What would you do for your loved ones? That is the big question Kenley has to answer. The world as she knows it is going to change because when the young adults turn seventeen they have a choice to make. They can either join the establishment and help her people out and then some of them are offered a special place where they can be modified and gain powers to save their world. What is Kenley to do? She fears the establishment because she lost her older brother and fears for her life but she wants to do what is right for her loved ones. So she decides to be modified.

Once she is modified she begins training at the academy to learn how to harness her powers and save Earth. Only she did not bank on going to the academy and falling in love. When she meets Landon her life changes. She tries to fight it but love wants what it wants and she wants Landon. What will she do with her new found feelings? Will Landon feel the same way? Will Kenley be able to learn how to harness her powers? Come along for the greatest ride of a lifetime! I love this mother and son duo. Please keep giving me more EPIC reads!

FAVORITE QUOTE:

The next day in class, I couldn't quit smiling at Landon. I stopped feeling guilty about how I feel about him. These could be our last days alive. Why not spend them happy? The war does still weigh heavily on my mind though, that's for sure. One thing is for certain, I've never felt this way for someone in my whole life. This feeling gives me hope. It gives me strength, and I know Landon feels the same way too.

MY REVIEW

4 OF 5 SAVAGES

First I would like to Thank FMB Blog Tours for allowing to read and review an ARC of Savage. I have to say that this book was good. I love the cover and the premise of the story was very good but there was just something missing for me. I am not sure what it is but as I was reading I found myself wandering at times and lord knows anyone who knows me knows I LOVE TO READ anywhere anytime and anyplace. So it bothered me that I was wandering in the beginning. With that being said I will say this LOUD AND CLEAR I DID ENJOY THE BOOK!

In this story we get to meet Chris is an exchange student from Denmark. His father wants him to go to America to study medicine to be a doctor. Chris is not really interested in being a doctor but he doesn't want to upset his father so he goes to America to study medicine.

When he arrives in Florida where he is staying with a very wealthy family he is excited. He decides he is going to go out with a few friends he just met and while out he is attacked by an alligator and killed. Then he is brought back to life by another animal. When Chris wakes up he is not sure why he is still alive or who saved him. All he knows is that he is inexplicably attracted to the house next door. As things start to unfold for Chris he realizes he has supernatural powers and that the neighbor knows more than what she is letting on.

What will happen to Chris? Will he find out what his neighbor is hiding? Will he follow his heart? Will he follow his fathers dreams for him? Come along for a great adventure and see where the wild animals come alive!

Excerpt:
“So how much do you know about St. Augustine, Chris?”

The woman driving gently touched her elegant yellow hair, careful not to mess it up with her colored nails. She spoke with a strong southern accent and was incredibly beautiful for her age, which I guessed was more than twice my age of twenty-two. Her name was Mrs. Kirk. I had just met her at Orlando Airport for the first time a few minutes before. She was waiting for me holding a sign with my name, Christian Langaa, printed on it.

The year was 1983 and I had recently finished my third year of med school at a university in Denmark. I had just left my country of birth for St. Augustine in Florida. Leaving Denmark was my father’s idea, really. I guess he thought it was about time I left the nest, so he called in a favor with an old friend of his, an American eye surgeon, to take me in and help me get a year at a medical school “over-there.” I can’t say I was unhappy about it. At that time all kids my age wanted to go to the States where stone-washed jeans and Michael Jackson came from. His latest album "Thriller" had just been released and was played on every radio station all over the world. Like so many else I bought the cassette and played it again and again on my Walkman. Where I came from anything that was American was considered hip and cool. That summer before I left, my friends and I had watched the movie Flashdance that made ripped sweatshirts popular and we loved the TV show Dallas and Dynasty that made everybody wear increasingly oversized shoulder pads - even us guys. We drank lots of Coke and dreamt of watching MTV, which at that time wasn’t something you could do in Europe yet and especially not in my small home-country Denmark, where we only had one national channel on our TV.
Willow Rose writes Paranormal Romance, mystery and fantasy. Originally from Denmark she now lives on Florida’s Space Coast with her husband and two daughters. She is a huge fan of Anne Rice and Isabel Allende. When she is not writing or reading she enjoys watching the dolphins play in the waves of the Atlantic Ocean. Other books by the author: - One, Two ... He is coming for you - The eye of the Crystal ball - Beyond - Afterlife #1 - Serenity - Afterlife #2 - Endurance - Afterlife #3 Currently Willow Rose is working on the sequal in the series "Daughters of the Jaguar". It is expected to be published fall 2012.
