Lengths by Steph Campbell & Liz Reinhardt Book Review and Giveaway

Nineteen-year-old Whit Conrad leaves her conservative Pennsylvania home for sunny California, looking for independence, a fresh start, and a place to stash her grief. She promptly finds a job at a tattoo parlor, a craptastic first apartment, and one friend—Ryan—who is a little less friend, a little more benefits.

Deo Beckett is a soulful surfer with a passion for tattoos and beautiful women. On the eve of his twenty-second birthday, he finds himself living with his grandfather, recently unemployed, and seriously adrift. He doesn’t know much about what he wants out of life, but he does know his current situation isn't cutting it.

When Deo meets Whit, she’s all sexy makeup and fierce, smart-ass fun. It doesn’t take him long to see past her tough shell. And when he gets a good look at what's under all the superficial stuff that usually gets his attention, it leaves Deo wondering if there might be more to life than living fast and free.

Too bad Whit has a past she doesn't plan on sharing—no matter how hot Deo is. She might want him, but she knows better than to let her guard down.

Deo falls for Whit, and falls hard. But everything about her, down to that mysterious tattoo and the way she thrashes in her sleep, tells him that the girl he loves is hiding something. And the more he pushes for answers, the more Whit pulls away.

Having your guard up is one thing, but are the lengths Whit goes to to protect her secret worth throwing away the second chance she has at happiness with Deo?

MY REVIEW

5 OF 5 SURF BOARDS AND TATTOO'S

First I have to say that I am so sorry for getting this review out so late. I read the book in one night and did not get a chance to write the review because life happened. Anyone who has children knows what that is like so I am catching up on my reviews.

Liz and Steph I have to say that Lengths was totally EPIC for me! I just could not put it down and I was so excited to read it. I just have to say to you guys I NEED more! The NA New Adult genre is taking young adults by storm and this is one of those books that will stay with people long after they have read it. This is such a compelling and heart wrenching story that it grips you right from the beginning and does not disappoint.

Lengths is a story of love, trust and redemption. Wit Conrad moved from PA to CA to start over. She needs a new life because something tragic has happened to her and her family and she needs to get away. She just wants to start a new life where she can be anyone she wants to be and do whatever she wants to do. She goes to CA and gets a friend with benefits and gets a job at a tattoo parlor and she goes to college full time in the morning. Who would not want this life you say, well Wit is exactly looking for this life but it is complication free and she does not have to think about anything or feel anything. That is until she meets Deo Beckett.

Deo Beckett is a twenty two year old guy who loves to surf and loves tattoo's and hanging out with his best friend. He has no job and lives with his grandfather and has no idea what he wants to do in life. As Wit Deo is harboring a lot of anger towards someone very special in his life and he has no idea how to handle it. He helps his grandfather out and he helps his mother with her store but Deo is missing something and he is not sure what it is. That is until he meets Wit.

Deo and Wit will have to face the demons of their past in order to move on and become what they need to be. They will have highs and lows but when the dust settles and the clouds become sun shine they will have the most amazing life they were meant to have. This is a story about love and loss and how to find redemption and pick up the pieces of your life. Love does heal all wounds and Deo and Wit will have to find that love and open up in order to survive.

Stephanie is a So Cal Native, a happily married mother to four evil geniuses, a nail polish addict and YA Junkie. When she isn't reading, writing or wiping someone's nose, you can usually find her baking something.
Liz Reinhardt was born and raised in the idyllic beauty of northwest NJ. A move to the subtropics of coastal Georgia with her daughter and husband left her with a newly realized taste for the beach and a bloated sunscreen budget. Right alongside these new loves is her old, steadfast affection and longing for bagels and the fast-talking foul mouths of her youth.

She loves Raisinettes, even if they aren't really candy, the Oxford comma, movies that are hilarious or feature zombies, any and all books, but especially romance (the smarter and hotter, the better), the sound of her daughter's incessantly wise and entertaining chatter, and watching her husband work on cars in the driveway.

  3. I was in 5th grade when I thought I had met the love of my life. Ha. I couldn't have been more wrong. We're friends now and there's no jealousy or anything like that. He is one of the most awesome people I know, but we were just 13 years old. My first real love was when I was at the beginning of 9th grade and we were together for 4 years. He has a gf now and we aren't allowed to talk.. Hmh. Miss him as a friend, but don't miss the relationship. We were just too different, although I think I will love him as a dear friend until the day I die.
