Natalie Dalton is a beautiful, witty, charismatic twenty-seven year old with an ugly past and one weakness-the people she loves. She’s been waiting for a way out of the dark cloud that’s suffocating her for a year when the perfect opportunity comes.
She finds herself settling in a small town based on a feeling of rightness, and as she learns about the people around her, they start to fill the holes she didn’t know there were in her heart.
Tucker Cody is a quick-witted, playful, and hard-loving twenty-nine year old, but for the past 5 years he’s set that all aside and focused on work as a way to escape. Abandoned by his whole family in one way or another, he’s kept people at a distance ever since. Until one girl.
Will they find a way to heal each other and move on from their pasts? Or will their pasts find a way to hold onto them?
The One Place is the first book in The One Series.
Warning: Some explicit language and sexual content.
My Review
5 of 5 Tucker Cody
The One Place is a book that will take you to places you have never been before. I have to say when I first read the Prologue I was like what the hell! Is this chick crazy am I going to be able to get through this book? But as I was reading all I could do was think about this poor woman trying to do what was right for everyone but herself. Her sweet nature and her nurturing spirit did not want anyone else to get hurt. So she endured what she did and made her plans to one day be done with everything.
When that one day arrived Natalie AKA Talie woke up like any other morning and did her ritual and went to work. When she arrived at work she did all the things she normally did and took all the abuse Andrew gave. Can I just say that at this point in the book which is not far into it I wanted to beat the ever living life out of Andrew. I wanted to rip his penis from him and feed it to him. Sorry enough ranting but when you read this book he brings the UGLY out of you! So Talie is doing everything like she normally does and after work she goes to her coffee shop to get sit and unwind from the day at work.
Then something happens at the cafe and she seizes the chance to start her life over again. She gets her stuff and takes off to the bus terminal with no destination in mind. When she gets there she decides she will go as far as the bus will take her and that is to a small town in the middle of no where America. When she gets off the bus she can't believe she has done it. She is free and she plans on staying that way.
When she arrives at the small town she sees friendly faces and there is one face that just lights up her heart. Tucker Cody is just living his life helping his neighbors and working like a crazy workaholic. All work and no play but when Tucker sees Talie he wants to get to know her and he is scared because he hasn't felt this feeling in a long time. But Tucker and Talie have a chemistry even they can't deny and as they get closer their pasts are coming for them with a vengeance.
What will they do about their pasts? Will they work through it or will they walk away because it is easier? This story is so dam compelling and will have your emotions on high alert. It is a must read and I am so glad I read it and I look forward to book two The One Girl.

My Review
5 of 5 Tucker Cody
The One Girl picks up right where The One Place left off. Talie and Tucker are happy and living their lives. Tucker has asked Talie to marry him and they have never been more happy. Talie loves Joplin and all the new friends she has made there. She is so happy she decided to make a run for it and she is even happier that she decided to go to Joplin and stay. But the past has a way of always making an appearance and when it does HOLY HADES it makes an appearance and that is when Tucker and Talie find out that their pasts are connected and they will have to do whatever it takes to stay together.
This book is told from Tucker's POV and lord hearing things from his perspective tore at my heart. To see how he and Talie were connected and to see how the same person damaged and dam near destroyed them had me had me reaching for the tissues. Talie is ready to run again but Tucker is determined he will have his girl and let no one take that from him. He loves Talie and he knows she loves him and he will be damned if that same ignorant ass person comes back in their lives and takes away what they have built.
Will Talie let go and fully give herself and fears to Tucker for a HEA? Or will she run and keep running? This is the conclusion to the one series but Laurel is working on a book about Coleman one of the characters we briefly meet and I can't wait!
