Coming Home To You (The Rockport Beach Series #1) by Claire Raye

Synopsis:

It’s Beck O’Loughlin’s job to keep people safe, but what he never bargained for was having to keep his former high school sweetheart and love of his life, Kelsey Walters, safe after walking away from her ten years ago.

Beck, now a hardened Boston detective and Kelsey, an inn owner in their small touristy town of Rockport, Massachusetts, find themselves struggling with the harsh reality that Kelsey’s life may be in serious danger.

Stalked and tormented by an ex-boyfriend, she begins to realize his threats are very much real. All she wants is to feel normal again and that’s when Beck shows up, bound and determined to save her.

But protecting Kelsey isn’t the only thing on Beck’s mind when their sexual tension steams hotter than a New England summer. Being this close begins to test both of their resolve, as emotions run high and all the feelings from the past begin to resurface.

Will they be able to grab onto this second chance at love, or will outside dangers threaten their chance at happiness?

Goodreads:

My Review:

๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–๐Ÿ’–

Where do I begin with this review...... I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. After reading it I had to sit and digest what I just read because I was in need of a tall glass of water for the steaminess and the suspense of this story.

Beck and Kelsey are high school sweethearts that were together and at the end of high school the separated because they didn't know what to do with their lives. Fast forward ten years and Kelsey is the owner of an inn and Beck is a detective. Their lives could not be more different but when Finn Beck's older brother finds out that Kelsey is in trouble and needs help he goes to his brother and tells him everything that is going on.

Beck's blood boils because his job is to serve and protect but he loves Kelsey and has never stopped loving her. So when he finds out she is being stalked by her ex and is in danger he goes right to the rescue only this time he is determined to win back his one true love that he let get away.

Kelsey still loves Beck and she is happy that he is the one to protect her but she is scared of getting her heart hurt again and she wants to take it slow but the chemistry between them is like lightening in a storm and she gives in and the two are combustible together. But they still have that threat to Kelsey hanging over their head and Beck is determined to put the bad guy away and have his HEA.

Author Bio:
Not only is Claire Raye a really sweet pen name, it’s actually a pen name for two sarcastic best friends who met through their mutual love of reading. After bonding over books (and wine and cheese), they decided to take the plunge and see if they could write a book together and ta dah... The Rockport Beach Series was born! In addition to their shared love of food and dropping an occasional (read, a lot of) f bombs, the writing duo that is Claire Raye like to write about strong, sassy females who aren’t afraid to say what’s on their mind and the overprotective men who fall in love with them. While Claire Raye’s resting bitch face might be strong, she always makes sure her alpha males are stronger!

Writing The Rockport Beach Series has been so much fun, even if Book two needed a shared vacation, a stolen bottle of champagne and far too much vodka and POG to get it back on track! Both halves of Claire Raye are married and both of her husbands have a cheeky side that gets plenty of airtime in her books. From their smart mouths to their witty one-liners, there’s plenty of material to use for all those alpha males she loves to write about.

While Claire Raye isn’t sure she’ll ever reveal who she really is - there’s just something about your co-workers knowing you write erotic love scenes that makes having a pen name that much easier – she’s definitely going to keep on writing. Plans are already underway for the next series, which is sure to feature plenty of sass, steam and humor, and of course, a happily ever after!
