S.E. Jakes Men Of Honor Series & Hell Or High Water Series & Dirty Deeds Series & Free Falling Book Reviews

One year ago on a mission gone wrong, Tanner James failed to save the life of Jesse, his Army Ranger teammate. Before dying in that South American jungle, Jesse extracted a promise that won’t let Tanner rest until it’s fulfilled—no matter what it costs him.

Damon Price loved Jesse, but problems in their relationship had come to a head right before Jesse left on his final mission. Now a reluctant Dom and a man still in mourning, he’s not happy when Tanner appears at his BDSM club. And even less happy with Jesse’s last request—that Tanner sub for him for one night.

After a rough start, Damon realizes that the tough soldier, despite his protests, aches for someone to take control. And Tanner senses a hesitance, an insecurity in Damon that makes him wonder if he’s simply a placeholder for Jesse, or if their tentative connection could grow into something more.

For Jesse’s sake, they agree to try one weekend together. Then duty calls, and a series of attacks that have been happening near the club hits too close to home, making both men wonder if giving their hearts is a maneuver fraught with too much risk…

Product Warnings:
Contains rough language, rougher sex and warriors who fall hard for each other.

My Review

5 of 5 Tanner & Damon

First I want to say that this is the first book I have read by S.E. Jakes and it will not be the last. Holy cow does she know how to write a story with some hot alpha men from the military!

In Bound by Honor we meet Tanner James who is home from his latest mission with his own personal mission in mind. For Tanner on his last mission he lost a close member of his team Jesse. Tanner held Jesse while he died and Jesse made Tanner promise him something and Tanner told him he would. The thing is that Tanner promised Jesse he would follow through with his wishes and Tanner has never backed down from a promise.

So Tanner goes out to find Damon Jesse's boyfriend and what he finds is a broken and battered man full of anger and rage. When Tanner goes to the BDSM club to find Damon Jesse's boyfriend he is greeted with anger and once he tells Damon what Jesse's dying promise was Damon says straight out hell no! He tells Tanner that no matter what Jesse wanted he is not going to fulfill his dying wishes. Tanner not really wanting to deal with Damon and his attitude goes to leave the club but is called back by Damon and what Damon does to Tanner both pisses him off and scares him because it ignites something in him.

After leaving the club Tanner can't stop thinking about Damon and what happened just to him. While Damon is getting reamed out by Law for his behavior Damon admits he is intrigued by Tanner but does not want to get his heart broken again. But the more Tanner and Damon try to stay away from each other the more the seem to need each other. While all this is going on someone is hurting the guys from the club and Law does not want to burden Damon with what is going on but soon someone is attacked and Law has to tell Damon what is going on because the attacks are familiar to both men and they think they know who is behind it but could it be that person or is their minds playing tricks on them? Will Damon open his heart up to Tanner? Will Tanner let Damon in after Damon was so cruel to him?

The one man he can't forget is the one whose memories could destroy them all.

After the one man he trusted disappeared, it took Law Connor ten years to take a chance on another relationship. Trouble is, right about the time he's finally ready to let go of the past, the past stages a hostile takeover.

Back when they were teens, Styx was the boy with no memory. He and Law had each other's backs until he was forced to leave to keep Law safe. Now a CIA agent, he's finally discovered who he is, and why he's a hunted man.

Detective Paulo McMannus has almost succeeded in helping Law forget his lost love when Styx comes plowing back into their lives. No way is Paulo giving up his lover without a fight.

Suddenly Law finds himself on the run with Styx, the man who can still bring him to his knees...and with Paulo, the man who brought him back to life. The worst part? He can't choose between them. And it's getting harder to remember why he should.

Warning: Contains rough language, rougher sex and warriors who fall hard for one another.

5 of 5 Law & Paulo & Styx

Boy oh Boy these Men of Honor keep getting hotter and hotter. In Bound by Law we get to meet Law who is Damon's partner and best friend. They have been through so much together and have fought to stay together no matter what and that is what they do. They run the club together and are there to protect each other but Law is a damaged man and he does not do relationships instead he chooses to do hook ups that are meaningless.

After everything that has happened to Law and Damon all Law wants to do is move on but how can he when his past is haunting his present and no matter what he does he can't forget his past and who was in it..... Styx. When the club attacks happened Law called Styx and tried to make his peace but someone else had something else in mind and now Styx will be coming for Law.

Law meet Paulo who was the Detective on the case of the club attacks and Paulo also had a secret he had been watching Law for a long time always trying to gather the courage to approach Law but he never did until the attacks started getting worse and he saved Law. After having one steamy night and I mean steamy night Paulo refuses to let go of Law because he is in love with Law and wants to take care of him.

Now Styx is back because his past is back to get him and they are determined to take out anyone close to him so he has come back for Law to protect him and unwittingly puts Law and Paulo in danger. So now the three of them are on the run and Styx and Paulo and Law will have to work together to keep each other safe. But is three a crowd or will Paulo give up Law to the one man he knows Law can't live without? Will Styx finally come home to Law or will he continue to run long after the danger is gone?

Can two men let go of the past in order to find their future together?

Men of Honor, Book 3

When helo pilot Glen Rhodes flies Navy SEALs into the most dangerous places on earth, he has nerves of steel. Since his trusted Dom’s death three years ago, though, the thought of submitting makes him panic.

Determined to move on and long past ready to release the adrenaline rush from his job, Glen returns to home ground—and to the bar he hasn’t had the heart to enter for three long years. There, he meets a man who seems to fit naturally into the void.

Derek Mann has suffered his own losses, and he isn’t looking for permanent. Easy conquests don’t interest him, either. One look at Glen’s proud military bearing and sad eyes tells him that he has a challenge on his hands. And that winning Glen’s trust will unleash something wild and beautiful.

The plan is to tread lightly. But from the first touch of skin on skin, there’s no holding back…except when it comes to their deepest emotions. A Christmas Eve crisis pushes them both to their limits, leaving them no choice but to let go of the past...or let it pull them apart.

Warning: Contains rough language, rougher sex and warriors who fall hard for each other.

My Review

5 of 5 Glen & Derek

Tie that Bind is another Men of Honor books that totally blew me away! I mean holy hell S.E. knows how to write about her Alpha Military men who are battered and bruised and war torn and just need a little love. I cried when I read this one because Glen stole the show along with Derek because two broken and battered Alphas were just drifting along not really looking for anything or anyone until they found each other.

Glen Rhodes is a Helo Chopper Pilot and he loves his job. He loves the adrenaline rush he gets when he is flying his chopper helping his team mates to safety. But Glen is sad inside because he had a Dom John but he died and now Glen is left alone and feeling sad. He has tried several times to get a new Dom but it never works out because he gets nervous and can't seem to get comfortable with anyone. Then one day he enters the bar John owned and he meets Derek Mann.

Derek is retired military and is a Dom. He had a sub but lost him and he decided he was better off by himself because the pain is still raw and rough for him. But when he sees Glenn their is something inside his heart that breaks the walls down and he has got to know Glenn. He has to find out why his eyes look so sad and why he always looks like a coiled snake ready to attack.

As Derek and Glenn get to know each other they find that sometimes the ties you share could bind to be so much more!

The danger that drew them together could send them over the edge…

Playing the role of enforcer in the Killers motorcycle club, all CIA operative Clint “Tomcat” Sommers has to do is make sure he has a body to show for his work. Thanks to his ability to move stealthily and easily between the two worlds, the CIA is damned close to making one of its biggest MC gang busts.

Two years undercover have taken their toll, but there’s no backing out now. Tomcat’s only reprieve from the pressure is fantasizing about the newest member of the gang.

Worry for his cousin’s involvement in the Killers drove Navy SEAL Jace Reynolds to agree to infiltrate the gang to do some short-term surveillance for the FBI. The deal: do the job, and his cousin gets witness protection. When he meets Tomcat, though, his fantasies kick into overdrive. Meeting men while on active duty is tough. Acting on his desires within the club could have deadly consequences.

Despite the risks, Tomcat’s and Jace’s off hours flare hotter than a full-throttle burnout. But the smoke is bound to attract unwanted attention. And when Tomcat suddenly disappears, the secrets both warriors keep could send one of them to the grave.

Product Warnings: Contains two hot men undercover—and under the covers. Both with secrets under wraps that could cause everything to unravel in the deadliest way imaginable. If you’re inspired to try something new on a motorcycle, go for it. Just don’t blame the author for any pulled muscles.

My Review

5 of 5 Kieth & Reed & Shane

Good God where to start with this review..... I mean HOLY HELL I started reading this book and my heart went out to all three of the alpha males in this story.

On a very snowy day Kieth and Reed are sitting at home spending time together when they spot something out of the ordinary. When they go to look to see what it is they spot a guy. Not sure who he is Kieth is suspicious of him but something in Reed is saying there is something wrong with the guy for him to be out in the middle of a snow storm.

Reed decides he and Kieth need to nurse him back to health but Kieth is reluctant until Reed tells him it is okay to open up and trust him. Shane wakes up and realizes he is in a different place and he is not sure who he is and why he there but he does know he is in danger and he has to put the pieces together in order to find out what is going on with him.

As Shane tries to uncover his life he and Reed and Kieth begin to develop a friendship and Reed has even started to have feelings for him. But Kieth is weary of him and wants to keep his distance. That is easier said then done because when Shane is in danger the guys come to his rescue and realize that they need to protect him and put their differences aside.

Will Kieth put his feelings out there and give in to the feelings he has for Shane or will he turn his back on him and let him figure things out on his own?

My Review

5 of 5 Lucky & Dash

Can you say OH MY GOD............... S.E. has done it again and I mean she has done it. Lord I have never been at the edge of the seat like I was when I was reading Bound To Break. I have never felt so many emotions all at once. This story is so messed up and heart wrenching that I had to get a box of tissues because I was crying like a crazy loon.

Lucky has washed up on the shore with no memory of who he is or where he comes from. A girl finds him and she gets her family to help her get back to her house so she can help him. When they take him home he has no idea where he is or how he got there so the family decides to take him in and add him as a member of there family and the girl Emme decides to call him Lucky. Lucky is lucky because Emme and her family the Bains take him in and they give him a place to stay and a job at their bar.

Lucky is living his life happily with Emme when one day at work a man calls him another name and he looks at the guy like he has a thousand heads because he knows that is not his name. But then again he is not sure of who he is so this guy may be right about him. Just when he is talking to another guy Emme's brother who is a photographer comes home and starts to talk to Lucky only Emme's brother has a secret. This secret is so big and it effects his family and Lucky that when Dash reveals his secret Lucky is thrown into a world of chaos because he can't believe what he is told.

My Review

5 of 5 Prophet & Tommy

Catch A Ghost was a breath of fresh air to read. I love S.E. and her ability to draw me in and keep reading till 3 or 4am in the morning. If you have been reading her men of honor series you know who Prophet is. Lord help me Jesus but he is one fine ass moody bastard that always gets the job done. Out of the CIA he is now working for Extreme Escapes LTD. Prophet is good at his job as a matter of fact he is great at his job. Except everyone who comes in to EE LTD gets a partner but Prophet never keeps a partner because one he does not need one and two he does not want one. See he prefers to work alone. But his boss Phil has other ideas and has told Prophet he is going to get a new partner.

Tom Boudreaux is a former FBI agent and Sheriff who has some bad juju according to him. He has lost several partners and has decided he would rather just go off on his own and not have a partner but Phil has other ideas for him. He has paired Tom up with Prophet and lord does Tom and Prophet do moody like no ones business. At first they don't get along until Prophet takes on a case that is very personal for him. At first he doesn't want Tom there but they soon bond over a friendship and before you know it someone is trying to kill Tom and Prophet will have none of it and he decides to protect Tom.

While this case is going on Prophet is also working on a case of his own and he soon learns that one case has to do with the other. Soon Prophet begins to play the cat and mouse game and Tom is one pawn in the game he has no desire to lose. If things weren't bad enough he is playing games with his neighbor and kinda love interest Cillian.

Will Prophet be able to solve his case and protect Tom at the same time or will Tom get hurt and Prophet lose the one person he does not want to in the process?

When a tornado meets a volcano, nothing is safe.

Soldier of fortune Prophet Drews always worked alone—until Tom Boudreaux became his partner. But when Tom walked away three months ago, ostensibly to keep Prophet safe, Prophet learned the true meaning of being alone. Everyone knows that Prophet, a Navy SEAL turned CIA spook turned mercenary, can look after himself. Which means he must’ve driven his lover away.

Even with half a world between them, Prophet can’t get the man out of his head. Maybe that’s why he’s in New Orleans in the middle of a hurricane, protecting Tom’s aunt. But the only looter around is Tom, bursting back into Prophet’s life. It turns out that Prophet’s been stuck in Tom’s head—and heart—too.

Their explosive reunion gets even hotter when Tom is arrested for murder. As they fight to clear his name, they delve deep into his past, finding enemies among everyone they meet. Staying alive in such a dangerous world is hard enough, but they soon discover that fighting to stay together is the most difficult thing they’ve ever done.

My Review

5 of 5 Prophet & Tommy

Long Time Gone is the second book in the Hell or High Water Series and I have to say HOLY EFF S.E. has done it again and Lordy Lordy Prophet is the man. He is so moody and unpredictable that he had me all over the emotions map because one minute he was okay and the next he wasn't because he would shut his feelings off and become hard and distant.

Prophet and Tom are no longer partners. Prophet knew he could not have a partner and after Tom got hurt he definitely knew he needed to stay far away from Tom. Tom decided not to push Prophet any more so he took another partner and is far away from prophet when things start to go south for them. Prophet makes some decisions that are hard but he makes them none the less and decides he is going to go off on his own and do his own work.

But New Orleans is getting hit with the worst hurricane to ever hit Katrina. Tom has an aunt there and Prophet decides to go and make sure she is okay because she is alone and Tom is out of the country on work for the EE LTD. As Prophet flies down there and gets Tom's aunt prepared for the hurricane Tom hears some noise outside and realizes he sees someone. When he goes out he sees that it is Tom. Tom has come home to be with the only family he has to make sure she is okay.

As Tom and Prophet prepare for the hurricane to pass they talk and realize they have some unfinished business. As they are talking and watching the hurricane come to an end they decide to go out and check on the neighbors when Tom discovers his neighbor has been murdered and he becomes the number one suspect. As Prophet tries to help Tom solve the murder and clear his name Prophet gets some crazy news from Cillian and Prophets past is coming back to haunt him. Prophet unable to believe what he is told tries to get Tom to safety and figure out where to go next and what to do next. Could it true the information he was given or is it a sick joke????

Sometimes falling in love is the most dangerous thing of all...

Blue’s a thief who lives for adrenaline and danger. When he meets Mick, a mercenary and a hitter, he feels an immediate attraction. But Mick reneges on a bet they’ve made, leaving Blue pissed and confused.

When they meet again a year later, Blue’s in terrible danger after having walked into the middle of one of Mick’s jobs. Mick saves him, and although the two men have fallen for one another, they have no idea how to handle that kind of intimacy that's been forced on them.

But when Mick goes missing on a job, Blue’s the one to go after him, determined to save the man he loves no matter the cost.

My Review

5 of 5 Blue & Mick

I love a love story that is not conventional and all instant love at first sight. I love when you have this knock down drag out fight between two people. The real rough and rawness Blue and Mick have totally blew me away.

Blue is taking care of his sister because she is all he has and no one is going to help her out. So Blue does what he has to do to take care of her and what he does he is very good at. Blue has learned from the very best to be a thief. He steals things that are treasured and he is good at what he does and he makes enough money to care for his sister and take care of himself. But on one job unbeknownst to Blue he is being followed by Mick who is a CIA agent. Blue gives him the slip and they play this cat and mouse game until they find out that someone has been playing them all along.

It is apparent to Blue and Mick that there is something there between them but they are not sure whether they should act on it or not because Blue knows deep down he will do whatever it takes to care for his sister and if it means stealing till he can't steal anymore then so be it. Mick on the other hand wants Blue but he knows Blue is in trouble and before you know it Blue is caught up in something and someone is looking for him and wants him dead.

Mick is determined to save Blue and protect him at all costs but what will it cost them both? Can they be together or will they have to walk away from each other???????????

Two seasoned operatives finally meet their match: each other.

Cillian works for the mysterious Special Branch 20: an organization that runs black ops commissioned by the British government. His specialty is deep undercover assignments with virtually no support. He’s been alone for so long that he no longer knows anything else.

Mal’s also used to being alone. Wanted in several states and even more countries, he’s not allowed in the vicinity of any of his former Navy SEAL teammates. And his current assignment is to track Cillian in order to discover the spook’s endgame. Except he’s no longer sure which one of them is getting played.

Cillian isn’t about to let the mission that’s consumed him for the past several years crumble because an outsider is poking around where he doesn’t belong. But Mal forces his way through Cillian’s defenses—and into his heart—exposing a devastating betrayal that could destroy them both.

My Review

5 of 5 Cillian & Mal

Dirty Deeds is one effing amazing read! I mean holy crap I loved Cillian from the minute I read his and Prophets exchange but Cillian is so effing hot and Mal lord with his brooding mood and his eff you attitude I loved him the minute he gave Proph the finger.

In Dirty Deeds Cillian's boss has him watching Mal and looking for some serious intel that his boss wants. But what Cill can't understand is why it is so important for him to track every move Mal makes. Then Cill is on his mission when he meets a guy and they share a moment between them. As they seperate from one another Cill tries to talk to Prophet and see what's going on with him and Tom but Prophet knows something that Cill doesn't and when Prophet starts to act weird Cill wonders what's going on.

Mal is watching Cill and he knows Cill is up to something. He knows that Cill has the onformation Prophet wants and needs so Mal follows him and tries to get the intel on him so he can give it back to Prophet. In the mean time while Mal is tracking Cill he meets a guy that just does things to him and makes him want to get to know him. But Mal keeps to himself because he had something happen to him and he is searching for the person who did it to him. He knows he should let go of the past but he can't and when he finds out who hurt him he will be left speechless.

Will Mal and Cill find out who is playing them? Or will something from the past come out that will tare Cill and Mal apart?????????????
