Dear Emily,

How do I start off a letter to a child I have yet to meet?

A child that has always been in our hearts?

A child that is meant for our family?

Your Daddy and I cannot wait for the moment we are able to hold you in our arms for the first time. To lay our eyes on your perfect face, eyes, toes. To breathe in the essence of a new baby, swirling scents of powder and linen.

We cannot wait to feel your beating heart against our chests and to listen to your slow and steady breaths. To hear your soft baby noises. To soothe your crying.

We have always dreamed of you, Emily. We’ve dreamed that someday our family would be blessed with a child. We are so close. Our new family is within reach.

We are here hoping, waiting, praying.

Love and kisses,

Momma

My eyes are glistening with tears as I scrawl my signature at the bottom of the letter, touch my fingers to my lips, press them onto her name and close my journal. I look over to my left where Kyle is softly snoring, sleeping soundly. I mouth the words “I love you” to him, touch his back lightly, put my journal in my night table drawer and turn out the soft light by my bedside. I curl my body into his, tuck my head into his chest and hold on tight.

I love this man with all that I am and I love the father that he is going to be.

My heart is full of hope.

My Review

5 of 5 Dear Emily

Can you say a million stars for this debut book by Trudy Stiles. I have to say once again thank you so much Brandee's Book Endings for hosting these amazing book tours for books I would never have read or heard about if it were not for her. To say that this is an amazing story is just so not true. This is a story about love, loss, pain and redemption. This is a story about two broken women who need healing and may just get that healing from one another. This is a story about damaged women coming to terms with the damage that surrounds them everyday.

can you imagine wanting something so bad and finding out you can't because of things from your past. Can you imagine being in a situation where you need a way out and the only way out is to give up the one thing you want but know you can't handle or take care of? Well this is the story about Carly and Tabitha two women who want something and need it and just may be able to help each other out. Both women are broken and torn inside and out but they continue to hold their head up high and continue living despite what they are going through and despite what they feel.

For Carly it is wanting something so bad she feels like she would die without it. But she never gives up the hope that one day she will have her hearts desire and that one day will be soon. For Tabitha she will have to make a life altering decision and decide whether or not she can make the decision and stick by it. Yes she knows it is the right thing to do but it doesn't make it any easier on her.

This story is told from a two person POV and past and present and let me tell you I laughed and I cried and I yelled at my kindle like a loony woman because the feelings and the emotions are so raw, rough, and real that it brings out everything in you. Trudy you have done a superb job on your debut and I need book two like ASAP!

EXCERPT 1:

I closed my eyes. I couldn’t look at him and say what I needed to say. I wanted to accept his help, I wanted so badly not to be alone but I was afraid. “I was told not to trust you. I need more time but he’ll come. He’ll eliminate you. That’s what he does.”

He leaned toward me, his tone stern. “You have to live the life you have been given. You did not cause nor deserve what has happened. Don’t force yourself to shut people out before you give them a chance. I’m stronger than you think.” His voice hovered over me. “You can trust me. I’ll never hurt you. And I’m not asking to be your friend. You have no choice in my involvement. Accept my help or not, I’m here to stay.”

My eyes were drawn to his. The pull toward him was overwhelming. I was losing my resolve.

“Why are you afraid of me?” His words turned soft and I wondered if I had heard them at all. “When I come…why are you afraid?”

“I don’t know who to believe.” I sighed. “My mind is being told too many things. I don’t know what I am. What you are. I am afraid for you. I don’t want to be responsible for another life.”

He took my hand and rubbed it against his cheek. So soft, I thought. No stubble. Flashes of Luke’s rough skin against my cheek when he’d finally kissed me slithered through my thoughts. My breath caught. I closed my eyes, trying to regain my own thoughts, to push the hard kiss from my mind. Luke’s words echoed through me. I was your first kiss.

Solomon leaned forward and touched his lips to my cheek, lingering briefly before moving away.

My Review

5 of 5 Entrusted

Entrusted is one of those rare finds in a read because you don't hear much about it and the cover is just simple. But what lies in this book is so much more than I ever expected. It is full of Native American Folklore and it is just simply amazing! I mean I am part Native American and to read about the folklore told to us by the elders is amazing.

Emma Hunter is just trying to stay under the radar. She wants to have a normal life. She wants friends, school, and a boyfriend. She doesn't want anything else and she doesn't think she is asking for much but still she finds herself with Luke and in a heap of trouble. So much so she is kicked out of school and Luke is stalking her not getting that things are over. So she is shipped out to a small coastal town where she can start all over again.

Only thing is when she gets there she starts having these weird dreams and she meets Solomon in her dream world. Solomon tells her things and shows her things. At first she is not sure what is real and what is a dream because Luke is still harassing her in her dreams and elsewhere. SO what is she supposed to do? Can she escape Luke for good. When she thinks nothing else could happen to her in walks Solomon her dream guy and he reveals to her things that are going on and she will have to make a decision to trust him or not.

What will Emma do about Luke? Will Emma believe everything that Solomon is telling her about The Native Americans or will she flee and get away from everything around her??????????????????

EXCERPT 2:

He pulled me to my feet. His hands remained on my upper arms. The intense heat of our connection radiated through the sheer material of my blouse. “It doesn’t mean I have to like the fact I’ve been replaced.” His voice was rough. “You look beautiful.”

I cocked my head to the side and watched his eyes move over me. A shiver ran through me. “You weren’t replaced.”

“You’re cold.” He took off his coat and wrapped it around my shoulders. Immediately, his scent filled the air around me. My head was swimming, either from the wine or the close proximity of Solomon, I wasn’t sure which. I held the front of the jacket closed. He slid his arms beneath, it running his hands up and down my back to warm me. Oh my goodness, was I getting warm.

“Warm now?” He gave me his teasing grin.

“Why were you at the window?” I tried to keep my voice even while his hands continued to caress my back. “You scared the crap out of me.”

“I was going to knock. But then I saw you and sort of lost my train of thought. Anyway, I didn’t want to have to play the social guy this evening.”

“I’m not sure she would have invited you, it is kind of a girl's night,” I said.

“Why risk it?” There was that grin again.

I shook my head in a feeble attempt to avoid slamming my mouth against his lips. “So?” I raised my eyebrows.

“So?” He sounded distracted. He seemed to enjoy the closeness as much as I.

“Why are you here?” I pressed into his arms, utilizing all of my liquid courage. I would worry about Luke’s wrath later. Solomon couldn’t back away even if he wanted to and I was getting the feeling that he didn’t want to. His face clouded and I shifted my eyes to his mouth. I wanted to feel his lips on mine more than anything.

“You’ve been drinking.” His voice was tight.

I came crashing back to reality. “What?” I stepped back as if he had slapped me. Why was it no one ever kissed me? Was I that revolting?

“Better not let Bidi know you’re drinking while you’re working for her friend.” His disapproval was palpable.

“I wasn’t.” I started to lie, and then thought better of it. “It was just a glass.” It was a lame response, but I felt like a child being scolded. “Bidi isn’t my parent,” I added, and then wished I had kept my mouth shut.

He raised an eyebrow, but didn’t say a word. He’d dropped his hands from under the coat and the cold of the evening came back.

“And you’re not my father.” I took another step away from him.

“What would he have said about this?” I shivered at the coolness in his voice. I couldn’t believe he asked that.

“Nothing,” I yelled. “I don’t have one!”

He reached out and ran a finger along my forehead. “So many scars.” His hand continued down my cheek and stopped at my mouth. “Does it make it better? Does the alcohol make it any better?” The downward trail continued until he rested his palm lightly over my collarbone, his thumb running over my bare skin.

I felt my breath catch.

His hand slid to the back of my neck. Moving in, his lips touched my ear. “When it is time, you will not be drunk. Or tied to another.”

EXCERPT 3:

Solomon caught me from behind and pulled me into his arms. Laughing a deep laugh, he twirled me in the waves. Finally, I saw the happiness from the photo. I felt myself being swept away. Without thinking, I took Solomon’s face in my hands and wiped loose strands of hair to the side. His hands tightened around my waist and I pulled his lips to mine.

Solomon shoved me back, breaking our connection and pushing me into the water. He staggered backward and grasped his heart. “No. Emma. Don’t.” His voice was hoarse. “You said—”

A grin tugged at the corner of my mouth. I took a step toward him.

He stepped away and shook his head. “Not on an impulse. This isn’t a game.”

“I give my soul. My heart. To you.” The words carried the weight of their meaning.

“You said.” He shook his head.

“I trust you,” I said. “I trust you when you say you are asking to share my love and not steal my heart.”

EXCERPT 4:

Slowly and deliberately, Solomon began to kiss my shoulders, turning me so he could run his fingers lightly over the bruises on my back. I could feel the warmth of his touch become more intense as he transferred the wounds of my body to his own. His kiss, his touch, sent shivers through me, taking all my worries and fears away. He turned me again and placed his mouth over mine for a long, soul-stirring kiss.

“I think you should watch those healing skills of yours.” I was breathless.

He smiled mischievously. “It’s my touch that heals. I thought I would try something different this time.” He continued to trail kisses across my shoulders.

“Well, I give this technique high marks, but have to wonder how the older men would like it,” I stuttered, trying to keep my thoughts coherent.

I felt him smile against my bare skin. “I’ll reserve it for you.”

“Does it hurt you?”

“Not as much as it does you.” His hands moved softly over my bare arms. I watched the bruises appear on him, and then slowly fade away.

“But I can heal you here.” I ran my fingers over the raw sore on his chest.

“Yes,” the word caught in his throat. “You already have.”

Goodreads:

My Review

5 of 5 Take What You Want

Okay first let me say this I am a selfish bitch and I am not sure I would want to share my man with anyone but the thought did cross my mind after reading this book because HOLY EFFING ROCK STAR these three really had something special and it was just not thrown together and half ass like most menages are but this is a story about self discovery and coming out with the feelings that you feel. I think a lot of times when men are gay and in the closet or are curious and just want to know what it would be like to be with a guy and a girl it is scary for them because they do not want to be judged as being gay or bi when they don't know what they want but for Alex, Chase, and Danni it worked for them because God bless Danni she was willing to do whatever it took to understand her fiance and his deep needed needs. Girl my hat goes off to you because I am not sure I would be okay with that because like I said I am selfish!

Alex is a burned out rock star who has been on tour for a long time but hey it comes with the territory of being a rock star. But while on tour Alex's sexual preferences come to light and the media has a frenzy with it. The media can't get or say enough about the gay rock sex God Alex. So Alex decides he needs a break and he needs to go somewhere quiet where he can write his music and be by himself. So he gets a place in the quiet serene town of Martha's Vineyard. It is there that he meets the gorgeous estate manager Chase and Chases fiance Danni.

Alex knows he feels something instantly for Chase and he is not sure if Chase swings that way but he soon finds out that Chase is Bi curious and wants something with him but he is not willing to leave his fiance and wants Danni to be a part of this relationship and friendship. When Chase talks to Danni she is confused and she is not sure this is something she wants to do but she loves Chase so she is willing to go to the ends of the earth for him.

When the three get together it is amazing what happens and I won't ruin it for you the reader but I will say this I give Danni a lot of credit because she is a girl with determination and she is willing to do anything for her true love. I can't wait for the next book in the series about Cooper lord I would love to like Cooper like a lollipop all over! tehehehehehe

“I love you,” Alex whispered. “With everything I am. Heart and soul.”

What they were offering was everything he'd always hoped he'd find with another man and a woman. It seemed surreal for that to be happening with the one couple he didn't want to live without – ever. He'd no longer be disposable. He'd belong to them equally, as they would belong to him. Three equal parts. And, he loved it.

Synopsis:

Entertainment journalist, Ryan Pierce, meets the infamous bad-boy rocker, Dagger Drummond, and walks away with a great interview and a scandalous news bit that has the potential to turn the music world on its ear. Exposing the story would boost Ryan's career, but it would also come with the risk of ruining Dagger's privacy – and possibly his Rock God status.
The unlikely friendship that develops between Dagger and Ryan brings Ryan to question more than just his journalistic oath to report the news. It also forces him to take a look at himself and newly discovered feelings – feelings that make Ryan blind to the risk of becoming front page news himself.

Will Ryan find the courage to make a life decision to give himself true happiness with Dagger or take the path that would likely lead to heartbreak and destroy his career forever?

** Fall For Me is currently a Finalist for the 2013 Rainbow Award in the gay erotic romance category.

Goodreads:

My Review

5 of 5 Fall For Me

Fall For Me is one of the greatest M/M book I have read and I have read a lot. I love how the characters came off the page and felt like family to me. I for one love when the characters discover their true self and comes to terms with what they are feeling. For me the two main characters knew they were different and did not acknowledge the feelings they were having until they just couldn't hide the emotions anymore.

For Ryan Pierce he is an entertainment Journalist and when he goes to the sold out show of the Rock God Dagger Drummond his life will forever be changed. After the concert Ryan goes to the private room of Dagger and the do the interview but in the interview Ryan discovers Dagger's secret and that secret is huge and Ryan is changed in the moment because he has a great story to tell but if told it could damage Dagger's career and Ryan is not willing to do that.

Ryan also realizes that after that meeting that he may be like Dagger after all and what would happen if someone or anyone found out he had those interests or feelings? Can Ryan truly be himself and be with the person that makes him feel whole? Is it worth the risk for love and how will all this play out? As Ryan tries to wade through the messy feelings he is left wondering if being true to yourself and the love in your heart is worth it.

This is a story of discovering who you really are and discovering that first loves are always the hardest because there is no manual to help guide you through the rocky seas of love!

My Review

5 of 5 Shelf Life

Shelf Life is one of those books that catches you by surprise. You think you know what you are going to read and then WHAM it is totally something different. I have to say that I started reading this book and could not do anything else until I finished the book. This is one of those books that leaves you wondering about the end times and what is going to happen and if we are really prepared for that day to come.

Pete is just trying to live life and help his family out. He is buying his time until he goes to college. His family is on this thing about preparing for doomsday and making sure everything is all set for the end days where they can survive. But things are not always what they seem and things start to go awry and Pete gets help from his neighbors sister Lindsey.

The two of them start this friendship that turns into so much more because things start to happen and the only person there for him is Lindsey. Can the two of them survive what is going on or will they end up caught up in the mess?

This book had me thinking about some crazy things and I kept thinking to myself how prepared are people for the end? Will they have enough food to survive or drink, how will they provide for their families and what do you really need to pack away and save for such a disaster if it ever comes? Stephanie thanks for this great read that had me on the edge of my seat the entire time wondering what Pete was going to do!

My Review

5 of 5 Meant For Me Eric & Ivy

Faith..... Faith..... Faith..... you are so cruel to me!!!!!!!!!!!!! Bawhahahahahaha this is my evil as hell laugh! Okay so I love you really Faith because as ever you have ROCKED my world with this amazing story that had me up late all night Sunday when I should have been doing homework. So after reading Take Me Now I was anxiously waiting to read Meant For Me and can I say HOLY WOWZER I just could not get enough.

For starters the opening is of Ivy and Eric and holy mother lover what a scene to open up to and then the story just takes off from there. This is going to be one of those reviews where I will not spoil it for you but I will give you a little inside information on the characters that are in the story.

Will is still alive and well and trying to stir up trouble between our lovely Eric and Ivy. Ivy is in a very sensitive way and she and Eric are getting along but as usual the doubts and the haters are well at work trying to destroy what they have. Ryan is still his infatuated self with Ivy and really has a big part to play in this book and I was rather shocked at what his shenanigans were. Lauren oh lord the villain Lauren she wants her man Eric and she is determined now more than ever to get him in her clutches. Ben my lovely Ben he works for Eric and is a good friend to Ivy.

We also get to meet some new characters and one of them I am dying to find out more about and his name is Tim and he is brothers with one of the characters and how things play out had me screaming FAITH YOU ARE EVIL JUST PLAIN OUT EVIL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But seriously I need book three because something major happens and when I was reading the last few chapters I was yelling and crying all at the same time because lord one of the characters pissed me off so much so I wanted to reach in the book and snatch that ratchet asshole and smack them upside the head a few times.

Faith you know you have a way to get my blood pressure boiling and this one had me needing my anxiety pills and a bottle of jack yes folks I needed my Jack Daniels after this because I went back and re-read the last three chapters to make sure I read what I read and low and behold me and Jack Daniels and Coke became best friends! This is a MUST READ series that I recommend to everyone!

Thank you Faith for letting me read this early because it made me cry and laugh and fall in love with Eric, Ivy, Ryan, Ben and the gang all over again!

Want to read how it all started then you have to read book one
Take Me Now (Take Me Now #1)

Ivy thought being a reporter-in-training at the Independent Gazettewould be her dream summer job. Little did she know, interviewing Eric, a landscaper with a heart of gold, would derail her plans. It turns out Ivy's boss, Lauren, has been eying his chiseled physique for quite some time.

But at twenty-four, Eric already has a tragic past, one that he is still reeling from. Even though his ordeal turned him into some sort of local celebrity, it's been a while since he's shared his bed with anyone. When he comes to Ivy's rescue out of the blue, it's not long before the two of them start seeing each other behind Lauren's back. When they get caught, Ivy's journey toward a college degree is jeopardized and her relationship with Eric is severely put to the test.

Career versus love? In the end, a shocking turn of events provides Ivy with a revelation she never saw coming.

My Review

5 of 5 Take Me Now Eric & Ivy

Take Me Now..... where to begin my review...... lord knows I have been through this before with Faith's books. I love how she can pull you in and then rip your heart right out. The push and pull of the characters always has me screaming or crying or just plain out shocked by their behavior and Take Me Now is no exception! I mean it took me a few days to read it because I have been having more migraines so my reading has slowed down but Boy oh Boy did I cry and then I laughed and then I screamed to only get to the ending and say what in the hell!!!!!!!!!

Ivy is finishing up her semester before summer break. She needs to do her internship and she has no idea where she is going to do her internship until her best Ryan tells her she can intern for his step sisters newspaper. Ivy is so excited she could not be more happy because Ryan has come through for her and she is determined to make him proud. But when she reaches her new job she is greeted by a boss from hell. Ryan forgot to tell Ivy that his stepsister Lauren was a real live bitch.

Ivy's first assignment is to get the low down on a recluse business owner for Lauren. Lauren wants to know everything about him because she wants this man and she will stop at nothing to get him. As soon as Ivy starts out on her errands for Lauren she finds herself staring right into the eyes of her crush Will. She has to work with Will and she is not so sure she can do it because Will has been her crush her whole entire life and she has never dated anyone because she has waited for Will to notice her. But once again Will does what he does best and that is flat out ignores her and uses her when it is needed.

Ivy has finally seen the light and has decided that she is better off without Will in her life. So next stop Mr. Recluse and when her car breaks down and she walks the back roads for a few miles and stumbles upon Mr. Recluse she can see why Lauren wants him for herself. As Ivy and Mr. Recluse whose name is Eric get closer things start to go from bad to worse for Ivy and Eric. Lauren is determined to have him and Ryan is determined to have Ivy at any cost. What happens in this story is nothing short of amazing! I loved all the characters even the bad ones. So I am dying to see what happens in book two. Faith I need it like I need air to breathe!!!!!!!!!!

About Me

I really hate talking about myself. My goal is to have the shortest author bio imaginable. I would much rather have a conversation with my readers.

Are you able to escape within my pages?
Does my writing make you feel something?
Are there characters that you can't get out of your head?

Let me know!

Random Things about Me

- I was so much smarter as a teenager.

- I am a slow reader.

- I tend to like a book more for its characters than its plot.

- I appreciate people who are genuinely kind and come through when you need them.

- It's true, creative people are not always fun to live with, but we keep things interesting.

- I miss the days when all I had was a rotary phone without even an answering machine.

- I'm a child of the 1980s, and a teenager of the 1990s.

- I love my dog.

- I love to travel and see new places - when my limited budget allows.

- I think in another lifetime I lived in the UK somewhere by the coast.

- When I feel an emotion, I feel it deeply. It's a curse.

- I have an overactive imagination. Writing helps alleviate that problem.

- Nine times out of ten, I believe a good book trumps reality hands down.

My Review

5 of 5 Fighting Temptation Daria & Cade

Fighting Temptation Lord where to begin..... I LOVED LOVED LOVED Cade and Daria's story. It has been a whirlwind of reading for me in this series. I mean S.M. captures your heart and she never lets it go. I feel so invested in these characters just like they were best friends I hung out with all the time.

Cade has finally opened his heart up to Daria and let her all the way in only for her to disappear and tell him she needs space. He doesn't like it one bit but he is determined to give her her space and in this he will do whatever it takes to get Daria back in his life on a more permanent basis. Cade is determined to have her in his bed in his house and all over him but what can he do to make Daria realize he is for real and he loves her and no matter what the go through he is going to be there for her.

Lord help me Daria my heart breaks for her because lets face it her father is a douche extraordinaire who used his daughter and got her hurt. But Daria took a chance on Cade and gave him her heart but she fears her past may destroy him so she backs off. That is hard to do when the boy won't stay away. Daria knows she wants and needs Cade but fear is a bitch and when it plays out and something happens to her and Cade she knows she is willing to do whatever it takes to keep him safe. Even if it means staying away from him which is proving to be more difficult by the moment.

In this epic conclusion to the series we get to see who stayed together and who parted ways and most importantly we get to see what true love and true friendship is all about. Will Cade and Daria get their HEA......... you will have to read it to find out!

Excerpts:
Cade’s POV

Pulling into to Daria’s parking area, I notice all of the security cameras and a few security guards. I’m glad her dad at least took that into consideration. Considering that, if it wasn’t for his ass, she wouldn’t need all of this. Her life wouldn’t be nearly as complicated as it is.

I knock on her front door, but she doesn’t answer. Maybe she’s in the bathroom or something. I use her code after I open the door.

“Daria?”

No answer. I hear the shower running. I should wait out here, but I can’t. I think about her naked body all soapy.

I slip into her bathroom and quietly pull open the shower door. I get the biggest turn on of my life. She’s standing there with her leg on the bench, rubbing her clit. I can’t help myself

“Ahem.”

She spins around. “What the hell?”

“Would you like some help?”

*****

After we’ve both gotten off in the shower, we take our time drying each other off.

I hear a buzzer. “Daria, do you hear that?”

“Oh shit! The pizza. I forgot. It must be my security guy.”

She steps out into the hall where there is an intercom. “Yes?”

“Ms. Jones, there is a delivery from Jo Jo’s Pizza. Did you want us to send him to your door?”

“Yes. That will be fine. Thank you.”

I pull on my boxers and lounge pants. Looking over at her, I tell her, “I’ll get the door.”

She smiles, towel drying her hair. “Okay, I laid some money with a coupon thing on the counter in there. They owe me a free pizza since mine was cold and turned bottom side up the last time they delivered.”

I shake my head and leave the bathroom, pulling my shirt on at the same time. I answer the door, put the pizza on the counter in the kitchen, and search for plates and cups. I look around her kitchen, I know Daria; those things are normally in close proximity to the microwave. Jackpot.

I check the fridge to see what she has to drink. Yep just as I suspected a fridge full of Dr. Pepper. I grab a couple and set them on the table. She walks in the kitchen wearing a pair of Betty Boop pajamas. Damn, I want to rip her clothes off again.

Daria’s POV

By the time we reach the apartment, I know Cade is about to blow, so I stop. I tuck him back in his boxer briefs and smile. Once he stops the car, he’s out and around by the time I’m stepping out. He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder caveman style, running into the apartment. As we make our way through the foyer, he pulls my boots off while I’m still slung over his shoulder. Once we get into the bedroom, he sets me down on my feet. I spin around and grind my hips into his erection.

“Oh, lil girl, you better not start playing these games.”

I work my top over my head, and then I start on the jeans. I bend over in front of him with my best porn star pose, pulling at my ass cheeks. “What games do you mean?”

He smacks me on the ass. “Your little teasing games.” He grabs me from behind, nibbling and biting on my neck. “These are cute. Are they new?”

“Oh, you win the boyfriend award for noticing the new lingerie.”

“What kind of prize do I get?”

“I can come up with a few.” I turn around and face him. “When did you take off your clothes?”

He grins. “You aren’t the only one with stripper skills, baby.”

He flips the clasp on my bra and it comes open. I slide it off my shoulders. He picks me up and tosses me on the bed. I squeal as he settles over me. He kisses me gently, making each one count.
