My Review:

Okay this is the first book I have read by Natalina Reis and I am wondering how I missed her writing. This is the final installment to the trilogy and I have to say that I am going to read the first two books because I am sure I have missed out on a few things but I was able to read the book and not be lost.

"The people of Natale have long suffered under the tyranny of the Elders. Now, they are ready to fight for their nation, but their one and only hope, the Jewel, is no longer alive." This is not the truth though because the Jewel is in hiding and she is coming out of hiding to take her rightful place with the other Jewel by her side. When Jaali is just home minding his business and gets the call to fight for the Natale people he is not interested but he eventually decides to go along and help.

This is one amazing story that will have you on a roller coaster ride that will have you holding on for dear life!

The goddess seemed to radiate light, her warmth surrounding Milenda like a comforting embrace. “I had to come and see you off on your journey back. My sister, Freya, was kind enough to allow me the visit. She is quite taken by you and your man.”

With the northern divinity, it was always hard to tell. She favored sarcasm and often vulgarity to being straightforward.

“There’s no need to be scared, Jewel.” Easy for her to say. She was not the one walking into the grip of power-hungry men who wanted her dead. “Your father will protect you.”

“He didn’t do that great of a job when I was in Natale, did he?” Milenda loved her father and she now knew that he loved her too, but after a lifetime of being treated like a stranger in her own home, bitterness still soured her heart once in a while. “He has a new wife, why would he care to protect the daughter that can bring nothing but turmoil to his life?”

YemanjΓ‘ let out a long sigh. “My sweet Jewel, your father is as anxious to start a revolution as any of us.” Why did the goddess think she wanted to start anything? “Now that he has been made aware of what’s going on in his land, he wants to change it. Melchior doesn’t want to be referred to in history books as the one who allowed slavery and other barbarities to coexist with a civilization proud of its culture.”

The goddess had hit a nerve. Milenda wanted to end slavery and the savagery of rituals like the Trials that almost killed her husband. As reluctant as she was to start a war of any kind, she knew it was necessary for much needed changes to take place. The problem was she was not alone anymore—she had a consort she loved more than life and now a daughter too. Her matangazos prickled, unpleasant electric-like shocks, the cold fingers of fear running up her shoulder and neck.

“Kidogo moja, I came to collect my dues.” The tall and exquisite woman’s lips were stretched into a thin line, but her eyes were soft and shiny. “I helped you save Jaali. Now you must pay for it.”

Author Bio:
Author of We Will Always Have the Closet, Desert Jewel, and Loved You Always, Natalina wrote her first romance in collaboration with her best friend at the age of 13. Since then she has ventured into other genres, but romance is first and foremost in almost everything she writes.

After earning a degree in tourism and foreign languages, she worked as a tourist guide in her native Portugal for a short time before moving to the United States. She lived in three continents and a few islands, and her knack for languages and linguistics led her to a master’s degree in education. She lives in Virginia where she has taught English as a Second Language to elementary school children for more years than she cares to admit.

Natalina doesn’t believe you can have too many books or too much coffee. Art and dance make her happy and she is pretty sure she could survive on lobster and bananas alone. When she is not writing or stressing over lesson plans, she shares her life with her husband and two adult sons.

The Gallows at Midnight (Agents of Interpol, Book 2)

Get YOUR Copy Today

...are you ready for the epic continuation of Lily and Blake's story?

A year ago, I met and lost the love of my life.
I lost Blake the day Interpol faked my death— but we didn’t have another choice.
The human traffickers after him had the upper hand, and I needed to buy us time.
Time to hunt them, time to kill them, and time to make the people I love safe again.
But a year apart does a lot to a person.
Especially when it’s based on the biggest lie I’ve ever told.
The entire team is on lockdown at a safe house in and on top of them all wanting to kick my ass for leaving, I’m still tasked with hunting down human traffickers on the side. Interpol doesn’t care if my relationship goes to hell, so long as I do my job.
In this life, nothing is safe though, not when the enemies are closer than we ever realized. For the first time in my life, the good guys and the bad guys look exactly the same, and this entire team is about to lose more than the job is worth. To make matters worse, it turns out the real villain is someone who knows all our tricks . . . and the one person, I’m not sure I have the heart to kill— because I don’t know what to do now that the enemy is family.

Xpresso Tours Presents a Blog Tour for The Year I Left by Christine Brae

The Year I Left
Christine Brae
Published by: Vesuvian Books
Publication date: August 20th 2019
Genres: Adult, Contemporary, Romance, Women’s Fiction
“A thousand half loves must be forsaken to take one whole heart home.”
Carin Frost doesn’t understand what’s happening to her. A confident businesswoman, wife, and mother, she begins to resent everything about her life. Nothing makes sense. Nothing makes her feel. Maybe it’s the recent loss of her mother in a tragic accident. Or maybe she’s just losing her mind.
Enter Matias Torres. As their new business partnership thrives, so does their friendship—and his interest in her. Carin is determined to keep her distance, until a work assignment sends them to Southeast Asia where a storm is brewing on the island. In the midst of the chaos, Matias asks her to do something unimaginable, exhilarating, BOLD. Carin knows the consequences could be dire, but it may be the only way to save herself.
An honest look at love and marriage and the frailties of the human heart, this is a story of a woman’s loss of self and purpose and the journey she takes to find her way back.

My Review:
Where do I begin for this review..... I laughed, I cried, and I yelled at my kindle because I had so many emotions going through me. Christine never ceases to amaze me by her writing. She draws you in and keeps you there and long after you have read the book you are still thinking about the main characters.

The way this story was written is amazing it starts with Carin and her struggles with life and her family when she meets Matias. When she meets him all things start to change for her and she finds purpose for living besides her son. She finds that their is air to breath and stars in the sky and she can see the future not just bleak days.

Then Carin and Matias start to become friends and something more. Everytime Matias is around Carin's heart skips a beat and he makes her want to live again. He takes away all of her pain and gives her this fresh out look on life. She is starting to live again and every time Matias is around she no longer has the depression or the sadness she has when she goes home to the same routine her and her husband have.

She needs more out of life and she knows it but she can't seem to face it and do it. She thinks it will break her family apart and she doesn't want to do that so she suffers in silence. Can Carin get the strength to move on and have a happily ever after or will she suffer in silence? Will Carin work herself to death or will she want to live each day with a fresh start?

Then the epilogue had me crying the entire way because Christine just knew how to gut your heart and bring it back together. I love this story and I need more of Matias and Carin. I hope to get more from Christine as I feel their story is just beginning.

Thank you Christine for another awesome read! Please give me the second book that I know everyone who reads this will want!

She thinks she can't love.

That there is nothing left in her to give to anyone.

Especially me.

But I would give anything to love her. If only my demons can stay in the past.

My Review:

This book is amazing and had me right from the start. I was sitting at the edge of my seat wondering what was going to happen next. This is a gem of a book and I am so glad I was give a chance to read it.

Raelynn is a lost girl in an abusive relationship. She has finally had enough and runs home to her brother where she knows she will be safe. As she is trying to pick up the pieces of her life she meets the towns bad boy Brooks and they click. The chemistry they have is palpable and they know they are right for each other.

The only thing is they both have secrets and will the secrets destroy them or make them stronger? This is a must read and I am going to go back and read book one as I loved book two. They are standalones so it is okay to read them out of order. But like I said before this is a MUST READ story!
