This is the first book I have read in this series and I have to say I was blown away by this story. I loved every minute of it and when it was over I kept checking my kindle to see if there was more because I didn't want it to end.
This is Mariella and Jordan's story and boy oh boy what a story it is. I mean there are secrets, and pain and love lots of love. I felt so sad for Mariella because she lost her husband and is now a widow with a daughter to raise on her own but she took it in strides and did what she had to do. Going back to school to finish her degree was one thing she wanted to do and then she did it and while at school she gets a new professor and starts to fall for him but well she is a student and he is the professor so it is forbidden but the chemistry these two share if of the hook.
Jordan had run from France as fast as he could because he does not want to deal with the problems there. He wants his daughter to have a better life and he takes her New England where he is going to be a visiting professor and start over nice and fresh. It is there at the school that his daughter meets Mariella's daughter and they become best friends. That puts Jordan and Mariella together quite often and they both can't help but to fall for each other.
