HOLY EFFING SHAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First I have to say this I love every book that A.M. has written. She has this way of writing a story and capturing you and before you know it you are so invested emotionally and physically to the story that you can't put it down. For me I start yelling and screaming at my kindle and then if it is really bad like it was with this book I cried like a crazy woman because I know first hand what it is like to be in an abusive relationship and want out and once out struggle to trust anyone.So for me this book was personal and as I was reading I was so focused on what I was reading that I had not realized six hours passed by and I had finished the book.
Riv has spent years in an abusive relationship. She wants out but just doesn't see a way until one day she has had enough and she sneaks away in the middle of the night. She decides she will start her life over and she will not let anyone close to her. She will keep a distance and just work and have friends but NO ONE is going to get near her heart. This works for her because she has a job that she loves and a friend she talks to so she does not have idle time on her hands to think about the bad things or her past she escaped from. But all that comes crashing down when she meets Shan.
Lord Shan is hot sex on a platter but there is more to him than the looks. He has a successful business and a great life. He like Riv has secrets and a past that keeps his heart guarded. He takes his career serious and has no time for relationships so hook ups and no emotions is what he is about until he meets Riv. She slams into his heart something fierce and he has no idea why she has invaded his space but he is determined to show her she is safe with him. Shan is determined to make sure Riv knows he is the real deal which is hard because he is broken but he is determined to win Riv.
Will Shan be able to knock down Riv's walls long enough to get in and steal her heart? This is such a must read story of love and redemption and learning to fight for the one you want!

One day, on her way home from work as a sales manager, A. M. Hargrove, realized her life was on fast forward and if she didn't do something soon, it would quickly be too late to write that work of fiction she had been dreaming of her whole life. So, she rolled down the passenger window of her fabulous (not) company car and tossed out her leather briefcase. Luckily, the pedestrian in the direct line of fire was a dodge ball pro and had über quick reflexes enabling him to avoid getting bashed in the head. Feeling a tad guilty about the near miss, A. M. made a speedy turn down a deserted side street before tossing her crummy, outdated piece-of-you-know-what laptop out the window. She breathed a liberating sigh of relief, picked up her cell phone, called her boss and quit her job. Grinning, she made another call to her hubs and told him of her new adventure (after making sure his heart was beating properly again).
So began A. M. Hargrove's career as a YA/NA and Adult Romance writer.
