As the club windows shattered, fire and smoke emerged, working their way up into the sky. The wind pushed the smoke across nearby blocks quickly and it soon passed over the area where Derek’s bloody body rested on the ground. The moon hung high over the city of Chicago, casting its warm glow on everything beneath it.”

“‘They’re in the air. Everything went smoothly. After what I did to that plane, none of them will make it to California alive.’ Ben smiled as he turned around to look back toward the jet, now far away on the horizon. The passengers on board celebrated two upcoming weddings, completely unaware that their rejoicing would be cut short from the doom Ben had unleashed on them. Stars twinkled in the night sky as if welcoming the plane into heaven. The moon cast an eerie glow over the beautiful city beneath it.” -BOYSTOWN Season Four

“Bright sunshine sparkled on the fresh layer of snow that coated the ground of the cemetery. Dressed in black overcoats, friends and family members of the deceased, many of whom had attended the burial of another loved one just days earlier, stood in rows like soldiers as they watched the flower-covered casket slowly being lowered into the ground. Those closest to the grave gently tossed additional roses onto the casket as it made its descent. Welcome to BOYSTOWN!
BOYSTOWN: The History

BOYSTOWN has a very interesting history. In Spring of 2013, I started to toss around in my head the idea of writing a continuing drama that focused on gay characters. I considered some ideas for characters and storylines. Then I finally began actually writing BOYSTOWN in June of 2013 as an online story and intended to release one "episode" online per month, each ending in a cliffhanger.

The story became so popular -- and the online reading audience grew so quickly -- that people from all over the country began to email me demanding to know what happened to their favorite characters and wanting the episodes to be released faster. They also had suggestions for future storylines! I was surprised and excited by the readers' response to BOYSTOWN and began to write and release installments more quickly. By November, 2013, I had released 10 episodes and the reading audience had expanded well beyond the borders of America.

Because of BOYSTOWN's huge success online and the serialized nature of my writing, readers from all over the globe were able to correspond with me and influence the storylines of the BOYSTOWN saga as I wrote it. It is really exciting to interact with fans in this way. I think it's something very unique to BOYSTOWN. Readers also suggested that I publish the first ten episodes as a book rather than leaving them online. I took their advice -- and BOYSTOWN Season One was published in late November, 2013.

The book sold well and I continued to write additional episodes. Episodes 11 - 20 were released in July, 2014 as BOYSTOWN Season Two. BOYSTOWN Season Three was released on May 1, 2015, BOYSTOWN Season Four was released on November 13, 2015, BOYSTOWN Season Five was released on June 1, 2016, BOYSTOWN Season Six was released on December 16, 2016, and BOYSTOWN Season Seven was released on July 7, 2017.

Emmett Mancini
Emmett Mancini is one of BOYSTOWN’s heroes. Kind, loving and generous, Emmett is the youngest of the three Mancini brothers. He is the family’s voice of reason, compassion, and support.

Emmett and his boyfriend Keith Colgan have been together for about five years, almost as long as his other brother Derek and his wife Joyelle. A few of their friends are in on the exciting surprise, but Emmett is clueless about his boyfriend’s intentions. And Emmett is clueless about something else as well…Keith’s past. Little does Jacqueline know that her life is about to be turned upside down when a mysterious stranger named Ben Donovan enters her life.
Jesse Morgan
Jesse is one of the book’s hottest and most complex characters. A senior graduating early from the University of Notre Dame, Jesse receives a job offer from Logan Pryce, a man Jesse immediately becomes attracted to. The only problem is that Logan already has a partner.

Jesse accepts the job and, along with his college roommate Cole O’Brien, moves to Chicago. Excited to begin their lives in Chicago, Jesse and Cole find an apartment in the heart of Chicago’s Boystown neighborhood and soon find themselves at the center of the novel’s action.

Having grown up not knowing his father, Jesse prays for the day when his mother will finally tell him who is father is so that he can attempt to build a relationship with him. In the meantime, a chance encounter brings Jesse and his new boss Logan closer than Jesse ever thought possible.
Justin Mancini
Justin is the oldest of the three Mancini brothers and one of the book’s darkest characters. Although he doesn’t appear in the book until Episode 9, Justin immediately figures into the book’s main storylines.

Harboring a dark history with his brothers Derek and Emmett, Justin arrives in Chicago to supposedly make amends with his brothers. But Derek and Emmett are suspicious about Justin’s arrival in Chicago – and they should be. Justin has a plan all his own and what he is after could destroy the entire Mancini family!
