My Review:

🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

This book had me thinking and I like that. I Like when a book grabs you right from the beginning and keeps you reading late into the night because you have to see what happens to them. This book was so much more than I expected and I was so glad that I read it. For one it had me believing in love after loss. I have always said that if my spouse where to die I would never date again but this book had me rethinking that decision.

Tessa is newly divorced and she can't seem to find her way. She is sad about the loss of her husband but she knows that what he did can never be redone. So she is stuck in limbo until she meets her neighbor that makes her want to do wild things and live again.

Cooper knows what real loss is and is determined to live his life recklessly. His wife has died and he can't get over the loss of her. He has two children he knows he has to take care of but he can't seem to find himself. Then he meets Tessa and she sparks something in him and he wants to live again. But can his past ways come back to haunt him and ruin what he has with Tessa or will they be able to work it out and become a family?

Newly divorced Tessa Hunt is determined that last night’s bad decision is both the first and last of its kind. Unfortunately, that bad decision wears a cowboy hat, has a killer smile, and somehow managed to undo years of damage to her ego in just one night. She’s more than tempted to keep him in mind for future rendezvous, but in her heart, she knows better. After all, he’s just a playboy like her ex, and definitely no good for a serious relationship.
Cooper Dean’s night with Tessa is a wake-up call. Holding her had felt different. Not like a one-night stand at all. And while he wants to see more of her, he knows he has to get his life together first. That means coming to terms with his grief over the loss of his wife, and rising to the challenge of fatherhood. His first task as a single father is to take his son to the first day of Kindergarten. Seems simple enough, until he finds out that his son’s teacher is none other than the lovely Tessa Hunt.
Now, the two neighbors are finding common ground in their concern for Cooper's children and their attraction to each other. But can Tessa open herself to trust again? Can this cowboy widower let go of his past and embrace the future with a new love?

Cooper stood, his forearm against the frame of the door. He’d obviously reclaimed his hat from the bar girl. It shadowed his eyes, but his smile was bright. “Can I come in?” he asked. “No.” She fidgeted in panic with the drawstring on her pajama bottoms. “Aw, come on, Tess. You left so early, and I was wanting to ask you to dance. It’s just you stuck close to your friends, and I was afraid of being rejected in front of them. Nothing worse than a gaggle of women laughing at you.” “Your ego would bounce back. I doubt you receive that many rejections.” “As a matter of fact, I don’t,” he said. He swept the hat off his head and took a step toward her. Not wanting him to enter uninvited, Tess moved to block him, which ended up placing her body mere inches from his. He pressed his lips together, looking frustrated. “I just want a date. One date.” “No.” “Why?” “Why?” she repeated with a laugh. “You of all people should know how a one-night stand works.” “It felt different with you.” “It wasn’t. You slept with me because of proximity. I happened to be there, and I happened to be drunk.” “Tess, I slept with you because my cute neighbor who has never given me the time of day in the nine months I’ve known her, finally fell for one of my stupid lines. And you can quit kidding yourself—you weren’t that drunk and you know it.” There was lipstick on his jaw. He smelled like beer. He could be Ian from fifteen years ago. Really, from an intellectual standpoint, saying no wasn’t that difficult. “I know your type, Cooper.” “Maybe you do, but you don’t know me. This--this isn’t me.” She snorted. “Yeah, I’ve heard that line before.”
