My Review

5 of 5 Eternal Flame

Lordy....... Lordy....... Lordy....... where to start with this review..... first I want to say how much I love Paranormal romances. There is just something about the love between two people who try and fight it for the sake of the other that I love. But what was different for me in this reading was the paranormal element. There was so many different paranormal beings from shifters to guardians to vampires and Gods that I was so enraptured in my reading that I could not out it down.

Marcus Dagotto is a guardian who loves his life just the way it is until the Gods decide he needs a mate. Being a vampire and a healer is enough for him but the God Zark has spoken and he has chosen a mate for Marcus so Marcus is curious as to who he has chosen for him as a mate. When Zark tells Marcus he has chosen a human mate for him Marcus blows a gasket because there is no way in hell he wants a mate let alone a very human mate. But Marcus knows better than to mess with the Gods so he sets out to meet his mate and what he finds is not what he expected.

Cassandra Jensen is a nurse who loves her job. All she has is her job because she has sworn off love. She is tired of getting hurt and she has decided she will protect her heart with everything she has in her. She has her dreams of a man she wants but the thing is it is nothing more than a dream. Can her dream man come true and save her from her broken heart? Or is she destined to stay single and broken hearted? Can she let go of her past and let her dream man love her.......

Will Marcus save Cass or will he walk away from her and face the wrath of the Gods..................

Excerpt:
Prologue
October 1712

Tears stung Marcus’s cheeks when he raised his sword. “I am so sorry, love. I have failed you. It should be I who dies this day.”

Eliza’s cocoa eyes looked at him but didn’t see him. Dead inside, her soul was lost. She would never again be the woman he loved.

He sucked in a breath and flexed his arms, the sword swung, slicing across her neck. The blade tore through sinew and bone and sent her head rolling across the stone floor. Reality nearly sent him to his knees, but there wasn’t time to mourn the death of his mate. The fighting outside echoed in his ears, the demons were strong and put up one hell of a fight.

Marcus advanced down the corridor of the abandoned castle. The scene played out the same in every direction. Blood bathed the floors, and his brethren’s heartsick screams echoed off the walls as they killed their mates.

A demon jumped out from behind a door. Its claws tearing the flesh on his arm. He wielded his sword and sent another head flying across the room. Out of the corner of his eye, he caught a Draki dispatching another demon. The shifter, a friend who also searched for his mate. Not even the dragons were immune to Drayos and his fucking misery.

The dragon turned his head. “Be careful, my friend. My brethren will soon be setting this place on fire.” Caleb’s cerulean body shimmered as he shifted back to human form.

“Have you found your mate yet?” Marcus asked as he searched the adjoining room. Empty.

“Not yet, you?”

He stepped beside his friend. “I killed her.”

Caleb laid a hand on his shoulder. “I am sorry, my friend. Drayos will die this day for what he has done.”

Marcus nodded and moved forward in his search for the demon Drayos. He opened up the psychic path leading to his prince. Aidyn.

Marcus, did you find my sister?

He closed his eyes, so many hearts broken today. She is dead, I am sorry, my lord.

I will kill Drayos with my bare hands.

Aidyn had already lost his brother and father in this battle. His pain ripped through Marcus. No doubt the other guardians felt it. It was a blessing and a curse to be connected to each other.

He tried to pinpoint the prince’s position, but something blocked him. Aidyn, where are you? Do not engage Drayos. The prince would die as well if he tried to kill the Demon Overlord. Aidyn was far too young; his two hundred years were no match against a thousand-year-old demon.

He took our women, used them to carry his spawn. He has killed everyone I love.

Tired muscles carried Marcus up a flight of stairs. He stormed from room to room, kicking in locked doors only to find them empty. I know my lord, and he will pay, but it is not wise for you to confront him. He knew Aidyn wouldn’t listen. Perhaps the gods would help.

“Zarek!” Marcus summoned the god, nothing. No surprise. After all, the gods could have stepped in and saved the women, but they had all been left to fate. Fuck fate, he was sick to death of it.

The sound of clashing swords filtered in from the hallway. He flashed into the room, not caring what he stumbled across. His vision filled with Aidyn and Drayos, they were face to face.

Drayos had morphed into a full demon and stood at least three feet taller than Aidyn. Blood seeped from the wounds that covered the demons blackened skin.

Marcus tried to run toward them but found himself behind an invisible barrier. “What the fuck?”

He balled his hands and banged on the wall. “Aidyn!” The prince ignored him. He was stuck, helpless as he watched the events unfold in front of him. Thoughts of telling Daria, his queen, she had lost her entire family in this battle sat like arsenic in his stomach. He pressed his palms against his prison. Aidyn, my friend, I can’t bear another loss today.

The air behind him shifted, a cool breeze lifted his hair. He moved his gaze over his shoulder and found Zarek towering over him in a Scottish kilt rather than his beloved Egyptian shendyt. His raven hair held a beaded braid on one side. So this is why he ignores us? He is busy playing dress-up with the goddess Quadira.

“Get me out of here!” he demanded.

“You will not interfere, my son.”

Marcus growled; his fangs elongated; he wanted blood. Yes, he would take the blood of his god if it ended the pain and suffering of his brethren. “You would let the prince die?” He tried to lunge toward Zarek but found his feet pinned to the floor. You are our creator, we your warriors. Why would you do this to us?

Zarek gave him a leveled gaze. “What makes you think the prince will die this day?”

He looked back toward the fight. Aidyn had lost his sword; a small dagger was clutched in his hand. Both the demon and the vampire bore bloody wounds.

He turned back to Zarek. “The prince is too young to fight one as strong as Drayos.” Marcus dropped to his knees, he would beg the god if he had to.

“Send me in his place…please.” He was three hundred years older than Aidyn and could defeat the demon. “We have lost so much today.” Death haunted him like a fucking plague. He was a healer, but today, he healed no one. The anguished cries of his brethren still echoed in his ears. They had slain their mates then turned on each other to end their misery. Marcus would like to end his suffering as well, but he would continue on; his skills were needed.

Zarek laid a hand on his shoulder. “I am sorry, my son, for all the pain you will encounter this day. However, today must shape the future.” With those words, he vanished.

The future? Aidyn was their future, the line that tied them all together. They all hoped the prince would persuade the gods to find a cure for the curse Drayos had placed upon them.

The curse would devour them, creating an imbalance that would darken their souls. When Zarek created his vampires, he used light and dark, good and evil. The light fueled the guardian of humanity, the darkness the warrior. A perfect balance, but once Drayos’s curse took full effect, the light would fade, the darkness turning them into pure evil, destined to destroy everything in their path. Not even the humans they guarded would be safe.

He jumped to his feet but found the shield still erected around him. Aidyn’s body lie still on the floor, and Drayos stood over him, sword poised for the fatal blow.

He beat on the invisible wall. “Aidyn!” He sucked in a breath, his heart trapped in a vice that squeezed the life out of him. He could do nothing but watch his prince die. A tear slid down his cheek for the death of his mate, his brethren and now his prince, his best friend. I am no guardian. I am a failure. I have failed them all.

Drayos swung his sword. Everything moved in slow motion as Marcus waited for the blade to connect with Aidyn’s neck.

Lightning sizzled from the sky and sent debris flying in different directions. The room crumbled around them as the earth shook. Drayos’s head rolled across the floor. Marcus sensed the shield that encased him drop, and he rushed forward to where Aidyn stood.

“What the hell just happened? Are you alright?” Marcus asked.

“I am not exactly sure. I think I caused the lightning.”

“You?” He looked over the prince, his pants torn and his shirt missing. Dust from the debris covered his bleeding wounds. There was something different about the prince. He seemed stronger. Marcus noticed the dark marking on Aidyn’s chest and reached out to wipe away the gray dirt so he could get a better look. “Sweet deity!” He jumped back.

“What?” Aidyn looked at his chest. His jaw dropped. “I never felt it.”

Like many of the other guardians, Aidyn had been given his mark. An indication of his position and abilities. Marcus bore the Ankh, a pair of angel wings spread out over the top. The ancient symbol meant life or living. A healer, able to repair the sick or injured with his energy.

The naked skin over Aidyn’s left breast bore the mark chosen by the gods. The eye of Ra, the symbol of protection and power, sat atop a pyramid encased by a blazing sun. This could only mean…

Marcus.

His thoughts interrupted by the almost unrecognizable voice. Father?

Come to me, son.

Aidyn touched his shoulder. “I am fine, let us go help your father.”

Together they flashed to the position his father communicated. When Marcus arrived, his father was on his knees holding the bloody, headless body of his wife, Marcus’s mother. His sword lay beside him covered in blood. He knew what had happened. His mother’s belly heavy with child. Drayos’s demon spawn had been growing inside her, and like the other women, her soul had been darkened. There was no cure, Marcus had tried to heal Eliza, but it had proved fruitless. Like him, his father had taken the head of the woman he loved.

“Father.” He knelt next to the frail man and placed his arm around his shoulder, pulling him tight to his side. “I am so very sorry.” Tears welled in his eyes, he refused them escape. He would remain strong for the man beside him.

His father looked at him, his eyes rimmed red. “You will do the honorable thing.”

Marcus closed his eyes, again. He would have to mourn later. “Yes,” he whispered. How much more destruction could he take before he crumbled? Somewhere, he would find the strength needed to end his father’s misery and begin his own.

“Take care of your sister.” It was the last command his father would ever give him.

“I will. I love you.” He kissed the man on the cheek then stood, his sword flashed through the smoke-filled sky and sliced through his father’s neck.

Marcus dropped to his knees, the heartache so severe he nearly passed out. His lungs contracted as he screamed to the heavens. Another failure, so many broken hearts he was unable to heal. Why couldn’t he heal the broken hearts?

Strong arms circled him from behind and held him tight. “I have you, my friend,” Aidyn whispered.

Excerpt:

I grabbed my purse and headed outside to go and buy lunch. J was on the phone, but saw me come outside and signalled for me to wait.

“I’m going to buy lunch, J. And I only get an hour so I don’t have time to wait for you,” I said, tersely. He kept talking and scowled at me. I turned and started to walk away from him, towards the cafe where I always bought lunch.

I could hear him muttering something into the phone and then he must have ended his call because he went silent. Then, he barked, “Madison!”

The last thing I wanted to do was stop for him, but there was something in his tone; a ‘don’t fuck with me’ command. So I stopped, and turned around to look at him. Oh, my. He was shitty.

He stalked to where I was and got in my face. “Why the fuck do you have to be so difficult about this?” He was fuming.

Well, I could see him, and raise him in his anger. “Maybe it has something to do with the way Scott has gone about this. And the fact that he sent you!”

He flinched. It was only for a second, and most people wouldn’t have even noticed it. But I knew J, and I saw it. It surprised the fuck out of me. “Well then, it looks like we’ve got some shit to sort out, babe, because I’m not going anywhere.”

“I don’t want to sort shit out with you. That ship sailed two fucking years ago, J,” I spat.

He gripped my arm, pulling me closer, “No, it fucking didn’t,” he growled, eyes blazing, “And you can’t deny there’s still something here. I feel it and I know you feel it too.”

I laughed. No, actually, I cackled. “You wanna fuck, J? I can feel that, and, yeah, if you wanna go there, I’m all for it. But don’t mistake my desire for your cock for anything else.”

Excerpt:
Daria’s POV

By the time we reach the apartment, I know Cade is about to blow, so I stop. I tuck him back in his boxer briefs and smile. Once he stops the car, he’s out and around by the time I’m stepping out. He picks me up and throws me over his shoulder caveman style, running into the apartment. As we make our way through the foyer, he pulls my boots off while I’m still slung over his shoulder. Once we get into the bedroom, he sets me down on my feet.

I spin around and grind my hips into his erection. “Oh, lil girl, you better not start playing these games.” I work my top over my head, and then I start on the jeans. I bend over in front of him with my best porn star pose, pulling at my ass cheeks. “What games do you mean?” He smacks me on the ass. “Your little teasing games.” He grabs me from behind, nibbling and biting on my neck. “These are cute. Are they new?” “Oh, you win the boyfriend award for noticing the new lingerie.

” “What kind of prize do I get?” “I can come up with a few.” I turn around and face him. “When did you take off your clothes?” He grins. “You aren’t the only one with stripper skills, baby.” He flips the clasp on my bra and it comes open. I slide it off my shoulders. He picks me up and tosses me on the bed. I squeal as he settles over me. He kisses me gently, making each one count.

My Review

5 of 5 Bitter Fruits

Lord where to begin with this review. I read the book a week ago and I am still reeling from it. I mean this book has everything in it and it is simply AMAZING! This is one of those books where it is a diamond in the rough and once people start reading it they will not be able to put it down. I mean I could not put it down and I told my family you are on your own because I need some me time! First I have to say that the cover fits the book to a T because as you start reading about Nora and Alec meeting you will understand the cover. I have to say KUDOS big time to Sarah Daltry for pulling off this book and it's contents because HOLY S*&^ I never would have thought to read such an interesting back story of the main male characters. The story line that is used is very unique and I will say this because I am doing a non spoiler review for this book because I loved it so much that you have to read it yourself to get the full affect of the book. Sarah man I wish I had your brain because that was BRILLIANT using one of the oldest stories in the bible. If you are religious and get upset when a story is used for other purposes outside of the church then DON"T READ THIS BOOK! It will be your loss!

Nora is going to a vampire themed masquerade party with her best friend and roommate Scarlet. Nora is not sure why she is going but she told Scarlet she would go so she has found the perfect dress and mask to hide her face and her Scarlet set off to the masquerade party. Once there Nora feels a little out of place and she is so surprised by how many people came out to this party. A few even have fangs and everything else to get into the role playing part they are going to have at the party. Then Nora gets a glimpse of a mask that has the most exquisite eyes and she is enraptured by him. As they talk and get to know each other Nora feels a pull towards him which she does not understand. Just as they are getting to know each other some at the masquerade gets hurt and her mystery man Alec leaves.

Nora can't stop thinking about Alec when she sees him again. As they talk she finds herself falling for him and wanting to do things with him but every time she tries Alec runs away from her saying it can't happen. A little frustrated and a lot hurt she has resigned herself to not having Alec. Just as things are going along she meets Alec's brother Caleb. Lord Jesus Caleb is a bad boy extraordinaire and he does not apologize for his badness. All Caleb knows is that he is inexplicably attracted to Nora and can't stay away from her. Just as Alec and Caleb get close to Nora something happens and sets the premise of the book and Alec is the one who will have to hunt down the person or thing trying to hurt him and his brother and the thing or person wants Nora. They are trying to kill her and to keep her safe she will have to stay with Caleb at his home alone and yes she is so not feeling that because feelings are starting to surface and she is not sure why she feels so connected to Caleb as well as Alec. How can this be? What will happen if Alec finds out? Will he leave her? What is hunting Nora?

This is a MUST READ book! Go out and get it because it is RELEASE DAY for BITTER FRUITS!

~Team Caleb all the way~

Praise for Bitter Fruits:

“This book is one of the best paranormals I've read, and I've read a lot. Five stars hands down! I am proud to pass it on to all of you. Buy this book, devour it and enjoy.”

EXCERPT:

He sits in front of me and brings me to his chest. Our flesh is hot and sticky where it touches and I can’t stop the ache between my legs. His breathing is ragged and he tightens his grip on the back of my head as he tries to slow it. I am hurt or angry or frustrated, but I don’t know which. He runs his hands along my entire body and I push against him, needing him and not knowing how to accept his denial.

‘I want you, Nora. I have wanted you since I saw you. You are gorgeous. However, there are secrets that... Please understand, the steps that you want to take will reveal things. This cannot end well for either of us. I don’t want to make you suffer, but I am fated to suffer. Don’t make me bring you with me into the darkness. I can’t bear to lose you.’

I sense the pain that grips him. The darkness that he speaks of sounds frightening, but I don’t feel fear when I face him and meet his eyes. ‘I will follow you anywhere. Dark or light. Stop trying to make my choices for me.’

Our lips meet again, but it is with doubt. Neither of us knows what will happen if we are to move forward, but I want to have a chance to find out.

My body is still crying out for him but now my mind is calm. I want him, but I want him when he knows that I’m ready for whatever that means. His hands touch me and his caresses are soft. We both slow our breathing and I try to let my will match his. When he pulls away, he gathers the picnic and looks at me with longing and a hunger I do not recognize. It’s not sexual, but desperate. Almost as a dying man looks in the last moments of his life.

‘In three days,’ he says, ‘I will meet you again at the church where we first met. In the meantime, I want you to look something up — and if you do not appear at the church, I’ll know that what you found changed everything.’

‘Okay,’ I say warily. I’ll do anything he asks, but his fear scares me. What kind of secrets can he possibly hold? Little right now could stop me from going to him in three days.

‘Find the name Charles Samuels. He was an Oxford student in the 1960s. And then we shall see how much of the darkness you are willing to face.’

‘I’ll look him up, but Alec, I’m going to be at the church in three days,’ I say.

‘For your sake, Nora, I hope that you’re not.’

My Review

5 of 5 Main Attraction

Main Attraction where to start this review.... man I love a good romance but this story took me by surprise. This is a story about a broken woman who had love and lost everything in the blink of an eye only to find out what she had was a lie.

Jessica Hunter had it all, she had a great husband a life she loved. Then her husband died and she found out that everything she thought she had and was was a lie. Her husband was a cheater and a liar and had another side to him that no one knew about until he died. So she did what any sane woman would do and she walled up her heart and shied away from guys. She worked and lived her life and then one day she went to the studio with her Niece and she sees the most gorgeous guy she has seen in a while. Penn Jackson is the lead actor and Jessica is intrigued by him.

Penn Jackson has had his fair share of women but he has never met one he would give it all up for, that is until he meets Jessica. Lord when Penn sees Jessica he knows he wants her and has to have her but he also knows that being with him may be an issue because of who he is. But to Penn it doesn't matter because he needs her and the minute he and Jessica come together the sparks are flying and they can't get enough of each other. As their relationship blossoms things start to happen to Jessica and they soon face the reality of being with someone famous.

Penn warned Jessica but will his warning be enough to keep her safe? Will Jessica fight for the man that has awakened her dead heart? Will they be able to get the HEA they both seek with the one they love?

Excerpt 1

Penn’s free hand came up and brushed my jaw. I reached for the towel, trying to control the rush of heat he was causing. When I brushed against his hand, electricity charged through me.

I saw it coming. I hadn’t been with a man in five years, but this might as well been a neon sign. The kiss was definitely not a surprise and I could have stopped it. But I didn’t. I wanted it so bad I had to restrain myself from throwing myself at him. His eyes darkened, his head tilted, his hand slipped around my jaw, and then my neck, pulling my mouth to his. A power pulsed and tingled from my lips before his lips hovered over mine.

“Stop me now if you don’t want this,” he whispered.

My hands moved to lightly rest on his chest and our mouths came together. His touch was feather-light at first, testing to see if I would push away. He leaned back and looked into my eyes, searching for an answer to his unspoken question, “Was this okay?”

A smile of embarrassment tugged at my mouth. I tried to drop my head, but his hand held me where I was, his thumb caressing circles on my cheek. He brought his mouth to mine again, asking for more. He slid his other arm around my back and pulled my hips against him. His lips opened slightly, his tongue explored. I could taste the rich beer he’d been drinking. The moan I suppressed earlier escaped my throat.

I pushed back and turned away from him, straightening my shirt nervously. I fanned myself with my hand, babbling. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” I refused to look at him and I headed for the door. “I’m sorry. This is a mistake. I don’t do this.”

Excerpt 2

“No, I’m not married.”

“But…the ring?”

I raised my hand to look at my wedding band. I never thought to remove it. I shrugged. “Widowed. Five years.”

“You thought I didn’t like the kiss?” he said incredulously.

I felt him tense when I leaned in and placed my mouth to his. This time, I was the one that caused the moan to escape his lips. “It’s kind of like riding a bike,” I mused.

“I thought you were leaving.” He smiled slyly.

“I thought you didn’t want me to.” I kissed him again.

“Jess…I loved the kiss. I just didn’t want to have to convince you to leave your husband for me.” His fingers gripped my hips and he nuzzled my neck, his words hot on my skin. “I think you’ll need to sit on the other side of the room for us to continue to talk or I’ll end up breaking my word.”

“What word would that be?” Tangling his hair through my fingers, I laughed when he playfully nipped at my jaw.

“That I didn’t invite you here for sex,” he mumbled.

I found my lips craving his. His mouth tasted so good. “But you did. Didn’t you,” I stated, pulling back a little.

“No. You aren’t like the others.” He ran kisses along my collarbone trying to distract me.

“Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to go back on my word.” Hope filled his voice. “You know, if you’re a willing participant.”

“Maybe,” I muttered when his mouth found mine again and again, sending a zing straight through my body. My breath caught when his hand found its way under my shirt and his knuckles grazed over my nipple. Regaining my wits, I stepped back. “No. I can’t. We have to stop.” I side-stepped him and rubbed my face, readjusting the shirt that had become bunched around my breasts. “We shouldn’t…well, we should at least slow down.”

He turned away and appeared to be readjusting himself. “You’re right. That isn’t how I want this to go.” He grabbed a new bottle of beer and plopped onto the far end of the couch, taking a long swig.

“How did you see it going?”

Penn stared blankly. “I don’t see it going into my bedroom if that’s what you’re asking. You already seem to have gotten the Penn is a douchebag memo. I don’t want them to be proven correct.”
