Jessica Hunter lost her heart and her husband at the same time. He died, and she discovered his infidelities, leaving her a shattered mess.

Five years later, Jessica still isn’t interested in a relationship. That is, until she meets sexy, lead actor Penn Jackson on the set of a popular tween movie—and her life gets turned upside down. Swept away by Penn’s carefree attitude, she lets him into her heart—and her bed—even though Penn warns her that being with him will change her life.

Penn’s warning doesn’t mean much to her. But when his publicist begins a campaign to get rid of her, and a trip to the emergency room turns into a tabloid explosion, she doesn’t just lose her anonymity, but also her job. Now, Jessica will have to choose between the man she loves and the life she’s always known.

My Review

5 of 5 Main Attraction

Main Attraction where to start this review.... man I love a good romance but this story took me by surprise. This is a story about a broken woman who had love and lost everything in the blink of an eye only to find out what she had was a lie.

Jessica Hunter had it all, she had a great husband a life she loved. Then her husband died and she found out that everything she thought she had and was was a lie. Her husband was a cheater and a liar and had another side to him that no one knew about until he died. So she did what any sane woman would do and she walled up her heart and shied away from guys. She worked and lived her life and then one day she went to the studio with her Niece and she sees the most gorgeous guy she has seen in a while. Penn Jackson is the lead actor and Jessica is intrigued by him.

Penn Jackson has had his fair share of women but he has never met one he would give it all up for, that is until he meets Jessica. Lord when Penn sees Jessica he knows he wants her and has to have her but he also knows that being with him may be an issue because of who he is. But to Penn it doesn't matter because he needs her and the minute he and Jessica come together the sparks are flying and they can't get enough of each other. As their relationship blossoms things start to happen to Jessica and they soon face the reality of being with someone famous.

Penn warned Jessica but will his warning be enough to keep her safe? Will Jessica fight for the man that has awakened her dead heart? Will they be able to get the HEA they both seek with the one they love?

Excerpt 1

Penn’s free hand came up and brushed my jaw. I reached for the towel, trying to control the rush of heat he was causing. When I brushed against his hand, electricity charged through me.

I saw it coming. I hadn’t been with a man in five years, but this might as well been a neon sign. The kiss was definitely not a surprise and I could have stopped it. But I didn’t. I wanted it so bad I had to restrain myself from throwing myself at him. His eyes darkened, his head tilted, his hand slipped around my jaw, and then my neck, pulling my mouth to his. A power pulsed and tingled from my lips before his lips hovered over mine.

“Stop me now if you don’t want this,” he whispered.

My hands moved to lightly rest on his chest and our mouths came together. His touch was feather-light at first, testing to see if I would push away. He leaned back and looked into my eyes, searching for an answer to his unspoken question, “Was this okay?”

A smile of embarrassment tugged at my mouth. I tried to drop my head, but his hand held me where I was, his thumb caressing circles on my cheek. He brought his mouth to mine again, asking for more. He slid his other arm around my back and pulled my hips against him. His lips opened slightly, his tongue explored. I could taste the rich beer he’d been drinking. The moan I suppressed earlier escaped my throat.

I pushed back and turned away from him, straightening my shirt nervously. I fanned myself with my hand, babbling. “I’m sorry. I don’t know what came over me.” I refused to look at him and I headed for the door. “I’m sorry. This is a mistake. I don’t do this.”

Excerpt 2

“No, I’m not married.”

“But…the ring?”

I raised my hand to look at my wedding band. I never thought to remove it. I shrugged. “Widowed. Five years.”

“You thought I didn’t like the kiss?” he said incredulously.

I felt him tense when I leaned in and placed my mouth to his. This time, I was the one that caused the moan to escape his lips. “It’s kind of like riding a bike,” I mused.

“I thought you were leaving.” He smiled slyly.

“I thought you didn’t want me to.” I kissed him again.

“Jess…I loved the kiss. I just didn’t want to have to convince you to leave your husband for me.” His fingers gripped my hips and he nuzzled my neck, his words hot on my skin. “I think you’ll need to sit on the other side of the room for us to continue to talk or I’ll end up breaking my word.”

“What word would that be?” Tangling his hair through my fingers, I laughed when he playfully nipped at my jaw.

“That I didn’t invite you here for sex,” he mumbled.

I found my lips craving his. His mouth tasted so good. “But you did. Didn’t you,” I stated, pulling back a little.

“No. You aren’t like the others.” He ran kisses along my collarbone trying to distract me.

“Maybe it wouldn’t be so bad to go back on my word.” Hope filled his voice. “You know, if you’re a willing participant.”

“Maybe,” I muttered when his mouth found mine again and again, sending a zing straight through my body. My breath caught when his hand found its way under my shirt and his knuckles grazed over my nipple. Regaining my wits, I stepped back. “No. I can’t. We have to stop.” I side-stepped him and rubbed my face, readjusting the shirt that had become bunched around my breasts. “We shouldn’t…well, we should at least slow down.”

He turned away and appeared to be readjusting himself. “You’re right. That isn’t how I want this to go.” He grabbed a new bottle of beer and plopped onto the far end of the couch, taking a long swig.

“How did you see it going?”

Penn stared blankly. “I don’t see it going into my bedroom if that’s what you’re asking. You already seem to have gotten the Penn is a douchebag memo. I don’t want them to be proven correct.”
