Synopsis:

Cora Lewis is a whole lot of fun, and she knows how to keep her tattooed bad boy friends in line. But all that flash and sass hide the fact that she’s never gotten over the way her first love broke her heart. Now she has a plan to make sure that never happens again: She’s only going to fall in love with someone perfect.

Rome Archer is as far from perfect as a man can be. He’s stubborn and rigid, he’s bossy and has come back from his final tour of duty fundamentally broken. Rome’s used to filling a role: big brother, doting son, super soldier; and now none of these fit anymore. Now he’s just a man trying to figure out what to do with the rest of his life while keeping the demons of war and loss at bay. He would have been glad to suffer it alone, until Cora comes sweeping into his life and becomes the only color on his bleak horizon.

Perfect isn’t in the cards for these two, but imperfect might just last forever . . .

My Review

5 of 5 Rome Archer

First off I have to say that Jay Crownover is BRILLIANT just simply brilliant. She brings to the table a group of guys who are damaged at best but learn to love and find themselves. We first met Rule who was a mess but Shaw brought him back and then we get Jet and Ayden and holy hell was that one crazy ride and now we have Rome and Cora and let me tell you Rome is Rules big brother who is the good son the one that does everything right no matter what it is in the eyes of his parents.

Rome is the all American Soldier who goes off to the army and comes back a very changed man. Coming home from his last tour in the army Rome feels broken because he has seen so much while away and he knows that coming home is not going to be easy because he is going to come home to chaos. His family is upset with his younger brother Rule because he is a mess and does not conform to his parents wishes. But who would after losing your twin brother. But Rome comes home and he and Rule start to form a bond and Rome is happy with that but he still has something or actually someone missing from his life.

This is where bad boy meets good girl who will change his life forever because Cora Lewis is a force to be wreck in with and she will show Rome what life is really about. See Cora knows how to keep the guys in line but deep down she is protecting herself from being hurt again. When she meets Rome her world and his world come crashing down and together the two of them will navigate through the dangerous waters of love.

Can two broken people really learn to love openly and let go of their demons? Can a soldier let go of those demons and ghosts long enough to open up and let sunshine in his life? Can a sassy snarky smartass women let her guard down long enough to let love in? Jay you have done it again and I loved every minute of reading Rome and I need more badass alpha men!

About the Author:

I’m supposed to share interesting details about myself so that my readers get to know me so here we go in no particular order: I’m an natural redhead even though I haven’t seen my real hair color in years, I’m a big fan of tattoos and have a half sleeve on either arm and various other pieces all over the place, I’ve been in the bar industry since I was in college and it has always offered interesting insight into how men and women interact with each other, I have 3 dogs that are all crazy, I live in Colorado and love the snow, I love music and in all reality wish I could be a rock star not a writer or a bartender but I have zero talent so there is that. I love to write, love to read and all I’m interested in is a good story with interesting characters that make the reader feel something.
