Good Lord this is the first book in The Corps Security and let me tell you Harper Sloan is one hell of a talented writer. She has this way with her writing that draws you in and keeps you wanting more and more. I have to say having read this in July and finally catching up with my reviews there is so much that sticks out about this story that I promise you this is one series you have got to pick up and dedicate a day to read all three books that are out.
Izzy found the love of her life in Axel. They were together in high school and when they graduated Izzy went to college and Axel enlisted in the army. They promised to be together forever and when Axel came back from boot camp he and Izzy would set up house and live HEA. But life has a way of effing things up and Izzy and Axel lost contact with each other. But one thing they had going for them was that Izzy and Axel NEVER EVER FORGOT ABOUT ONE ANOTHER!
Years later Izzy is married to the biggest asshole alive and she is tired of his crap and she decides she is going to divorce him and move on. But Her husband is not having any of that and he attacks Izzy and makes her life miserable but thank God she has her best friends Cage and Dee by her side. Cage decides he will get his best friend and former team leader Reid to help him keep Izzy safe. He loves her and will lay down his life for her. Only when Izzy meets Reid they both get the surprise of a life time.
See Reid is Axel and Izzy and he have so much to talk about but Izzy hates Axel for leaving and Axel hates Izzy for leaving and when the two of them finally get together to talk the realize that someone wanted them to stay apart and they were willing to do whatever it took to keep them apart. But Axel is determined to protect Izzy and make her his finally but he knows he must keep her safe from her soon to be ex-husband.
What happens when the shit hits the fan and someone gets hurt? Can Axel keep Izzy safe and make her his? Or will Izzy say no and walk away from the love of her life? I have to tell you this is such a gut wrenching story that I cried and i laughed and then I swooned over Axel because he is one hot ass Alpha male!

Cage....... Cage....... Cage....... Greg Cage you totally rocked my world! Lord where to start with this review???????????? I mean my head was whirling the entire time I was reading because I just knew I just knew things were going to be tough for Greg and when he met his match like Izzy got reacquainted with Axel he would fall hard but never in my wildest dreams did I picture Greg falling hard like he did and falling for a girl like Melissa. I loved that girl because she is so like me. She is loyal and dedicated to family and will let no one or nothing stand in the way of them being happy. Plus she is an ALPHA female and I loved that about her because let's face it Greg needed an alpha chick to be with because someone mousy just wasn't going to be able to hang.
Greg is happy for Izzy and Axel getting married but he feels this hole in his heart where Izzy has been all this time. Yes they still hang together but it is not the same because Izzy has Axel. So my man Greg has his chick on the side Mandy to pass time with but she is not his girl she is just his toy something to play with for the time being and when your done with the toy you get rid of it but that is easier said then done.
But Greg being the awesome big brother and best friend to Izzy takes Izzy's son to the doctor and that is where he meets Melissa. Melissa is a nurse and she is beautiful. Meli does something to Greg that he has not felt in a long time and it scares the crap out of him. Greg buried his heart the day his sister was buried. See he took care of his family and when his sister died he wanted nothing more than to kill the SOB who hurt his sister. So he lived his life with horse blinders on and decided he would seek revenge. But when he sees Meli all that goes out the door and he wants her.
As he is getting to know her and they try and have a relationship things happen that will have these two fighting for what they want. See Mandy will not let go of Greg so easily because she is determined to be his woman but Greg wants Meli and is willing to do whatever it takes to have her by his side. Oh and let's not forget Meli has her issues and problems to and when shit hits the fan Greg will call in a favor to his boys at Corps and his other best friend Braxxon Breaker.
Lord Greg and Meli have a roller coaster of a ride to go through but at the end of the day when the dust has settled and the shit storm they have to endure is all over will Meli and Greg be left standing or will they be no more...........................

5 of 5 Beck & Dee
First I have to say Harper Sloan you are EFFING BRILLIANT! I mean with every book I fall more and more in love with those ALPHA men! I have to say when I first read Axle I was like holy eff this series is going to be intense. Let's face it Harper loves to pull us in and leave us at the precipice and then BAM there it is in your face and the problems and all the crap they have endured is well worth it because you get this hot ass alpha male who will do anything for the love of his life and his family.
With Beck and Dee there is so much to this story that the more I read the more invested I was in this story and the more I needed of Beck and Dee. Yes Dee has her issues and a lot of people are going to get aggravated with her but this is her story and her shit storm that he has to deal with and yes if there is blow back then there is blow back. No one goes through what Dee has and escapes intact because life hands you shit and you learn to survive and that is what Beck saw deep down inside about Dee when he saw her with Izzy. Beck knew Dee was going to be a constant in his life.
Did Beck ever expect to have to fight hard for Dee yes because a good women never gives up the goods so easily and what Beck knew of Dee he knew she did not do relationships but he also knew Dee was his forever and so he fought hard and long for her and at the end of the day Beck went home with a smile and the promise that Dee would be there in his life tomorrow. Beck is so strong and loving that I swear I need Harper to tell me the secret to Beck and the formula to crate a real life Beck because hot dam I need me a Beck in my life!
Did Beck and Dee struggle in there relationship..... HELL YES but this is where the hearty of the story comes in because you fight hard enough through all the bullshit and the end result is amazing just simply amazing! Did they suffer through things and have to deal with a shit storm HELL YES but when you read the story and see the strength of Beck and Dee and the love that Beck has for her you are going to need a box of tissues because HOLY EFFING HELL I cried like a baby because Harper crafted and created such a story that has pulled me right from Axle to Cage to Beck and lord have mercy I need more of those gorgeous fun loving alphas in my life!
Harper lives in small town Georgia just a short drive from her hometown of Peachtree City. She (and her 3 daughters) enjoy ruling the house they dubbed 'Estrogen Ocean', much to her husbands chagrin. Harper has a borderline unhealthy obsession with books; you can almost ALWAYS find her with her eReader attached. She enjoys bad reality TV and cheesy romantic flicks. Her favorite kind of hero--the super alpha kind!
Harper started using writing as a way to unwind when the house went to sleep at night; and with a house full of crazy it was the perfect way to just relax. It didn't take long before a head full of very demanding alphas would stop at nothing to have their story told.
