At nineteen, Kalli Perkins has never been in love and doesn't ever intend to be. She has her issues handled. She's managed to keep the secret of what happened to her nine years ago from her mother, although her mother's usually high anyway and barely notices Kalli or her little brothers.
One night at a party, Kalli makes a bet with her friend, Nate, that could change everything. But she didn't count on him. Nate's very capable of satisfying her, not only under her clothes, but in her heart, too.
She just doesn't know it yet.

Can I just say HOLY WOWZER!!!!!!!!!!!! Rebecca you never cease to amaze me with your writing. I swear when ever I read your books I know I need some tissues and I need some me time because I get emotional and start yelling at my Kindle like a loony person and yes folks I did just that. This story is so amazing and so emotional that I was not sure whether to laugh, cry, or scream in some parts.
Kalli is our main character and she has a shit life. I mean she is raising her twin brothers because her mother is always high on something and not caring about her or her brothers. So Kalli steps up to the plate and takes good care of her brothers. Kalli doesn't mind because she wants to protect her brothers from any kind of harm because her mother never protected her when she was little and something happened to her. So with that on her mind she is determined to keep herself safe and her brothers.
So one night Kalli and her friends are partying and she makes a bet with her best friend Nate. At first it is crazy I mena the bet itself is like WTF Kalli are you serious but as things start to unfold from there Kalli and her best friend Nate seem to have some things in common and feelings are explored and for once Kalli is thinking about opening up her heart to Nate. She knows she is broken but Nate brings so much good out of her that she is determined to come through her tragedy and become whole again. But can Nate really be the key to helping Kalli or will he push her away?
Rebecca you know how to write a story that tears your heart out and puts it back together again. No there does not have to be a HEA because sometimes what is good for one person is not good for the other. This is the beginning of a kick ass series and I need more! I need book two like yesterday!
Rebecca Berto writes stories about love and relationships. She gets a thrill when her readers are emotional reading her books, and gets even more of a kick when they tell her so. She's strangely imaginative, spends too much time on her computer, and is certifiably crazy when she works on her fiction.
Rebecca Berto lives in Melbourne, Australia with her boyfriend and their doggy.
