This is the first book I have read by Claire Raye and the first book in the series. I have to say that this book had me going through all these emotions from happy to sad to angry to frustrated. I was thinking things while I was reading this book that had me laughing because I was like had this been real and Erin was my friend she would get a good cussing out. Some of the things she said and did had me ready to shuttle kick her. She was immature at times and she also loved to argue with Ryan. It was the same thing over and over again they would fight yell and scream and then they would make up by having sex. This pissed me off because Erin should learn to talk things out and work things out by staying calm and remain level headed.
Ryan boy oh boy I loved Ryan. He had his faults to because he was hurt in the past and he held back quite a lot and that made me mad at him sometimes. Ryan thought he had it all figured out when in reality he did not. He has one night with a fiery woman and he can't get her out of his mind so he comes back for more only she fights him tooth and nail because she doesn't want a relationship either. She has been hurt before but Ryan wears her down and the two of them start a relationship.
Then something happens between Ryan and Erin that will rock the foundation of their relationship. See Erin is keeping a huge secret and while Ryan is working on a case he finds out Erin's secret and confronts her and she has no choice but to come clean. As she does Ryan will have to decide if they can stay together or will this secret destroy them?

Claire Raye is a contemporary romance author who likes to write books about the Boston area with realistic, lovable characters. Her men are fiercely protective and the women are independent and sassy. She loves second chance romances and happily ever afters, but not without a little drama and a lot of passion.
Claire spends her days working a regular job, but in the evenings she can be found writing, eating chocolate and drinking wine.
