LORDY....... LORDY....... LORDY....... was my first thought reading this book. It is the first one I have read in the series and I need to read the others because these Payne Brothers are something else. I loved them and I loved the town of Butterpond. The residents there are a HOOT! I mean I was laughing so hard at the shenanigans they did my stomach was hurting. I have to say that this book was funny but there were some serious issues that were dealt with. Especially when it came to Varius and Glory. Their story is one that is told with so much love and patience you will fall in love with them.
Varius was a minister that had some things happen to him while he was a Minister. So he left the church to find himself and started seeing Glory. It is a no strings attached relationship with just them sleeping together and nothing more. But God has other plans because these two see each other outside the hotel they meet at and end up working on the Christmas Pageant.
At first it is awkward to say the least but Varius and Glory are a great team together and work on the pageant making it a hit. The more they work together the more they fall for each other but they both are wondering if this could work out. Can they be a couple when both of them have secrets and deep rooted hurt to get through?
Watching them work through things and learn to rely on each other is what makes this an amazing story that will totally blow your mind when you find out the secrets that both of them have.
